Derek and team helped us with installing a Hertz CBA 250 in my son’s 2025 Chevy Equinox. Initially there were some challenges with startup sound even after disabling ANC. Derek and his tech had us bring the vehicle back after doing some research and cleared up the issue. Really appreciated the service.
You won't find a friendlier store and amazing display of Auto Speakers than Custom Sounds on Research Blvd. The worker that assisted me was TOP NOTCH!!! I RECOMMEND anyone who's looking for GREAT SOUNDS!!!
Only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the front office staff were apologetic. Went to this location because they’re supposed to be a “pro dealer” of Compustar, but they struggled to answer basic questions about their product. After the first day of missing work everything was installed, but they didn’t do the “overtake” for my Lexus which they already charged me for, how do you charge a service and not do it? So then I have to take another day off work and after them working on it the entire day, I come in 15min before close and that’s when they decide to tell me that the overtake isn’t possible. After all that, they don’t offer me a discount, just a refund of the initial hour of work it took to try and do the overtake, not to mention all the money I spent for a rental vehicle and Lyfts. Do your research before coming here. Nice guys, but that’s about it. Update: had to change it to 1 star because the security system they installed didn’t even work. Someone hit my car in a parking lot and I got 0 notifications, the impact was strong enough to pop out the rear passenger panel, but no sensors went off. The whole reason why I wanted this system installed was to be notified for events like this.
Shout out Dustin Reynolds the regional manager for providing excellent customer service! He was able to get me fixed up lickety split! Replaced my aging speakers and head unit, and he helped select the right speakers for my given music tastes and budget (with a demo in the sound room!) and had me ready to go in a day! They also cleaned up my existing wiring. I had some follow up questions and he was quick to respond and friendly! If you want to get into some serious sound this is the place!!
The work I had done to my Camaro has turned out to be a nightmare!!! It takes a LOT for me to post a negative review about a company but after spending over $4500 to have WATER DAMAGE all throughout the trunk of my car, I feel obligated to warn others! Part of the install was a custom sub box which was paneled off through the trunk entrance. That, in addition to the amp and wiring, ended up taking up my entire trunk space, which I didn't mind initially... But after some time i noticed the sound quality of the system starting to diminish. Went ahead and unbolted the enclosure to evaluate only to find that the placement of the box had knocked apart the sunroof drain hose, allowing water to flow into the trunk and damage the sub box, RCA's, rust my spare wheel well, and potentially the subwoofer itself from the box moisture. I decided to look at the rest of the system and noticed how poorly mounted the tweeters were as well as how unprofessional and poor quality the install is as a whole behind the "glitz and glamour" (wires hanging, electrical tape everywhere). I would never take any vehicle back to Custom Sounds!
