The decor & size of this place are truly impressive. The food was tasty & the prices were fair. The server was kind & very attentive. If you are looking for some good Chinese food, you can’t go wrong with Ding How’s. 👌
Ordered 4 plates of food for 3 people, since for whatever reason they don’t let you sub rice for lo mien with an up charge. Regardless, the food was NOT great at all, very bland flavorless taste. I ordered the sweet & sour chicken, orange chicken, chicken & vegetables, and chicken lo mien, and all 4 were a miss. Although it’s a nice place, with nice staff, the food is definitely not worth the cost, 1st time there, last time as well. Of the 4 plates, the lo mien was the best tasting, but still not worth the cost, and the steamed rice was mashy. Sometimes food is better when you sit in the restaurant, but I took this to go, only to be disappointed when I got home. Anyhow, this food is mediocre, at best, but definitely not worth the cost.
We had an incredible dining experience at Ding How Chinese Restaurant in San Antonio! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting—but what truly made our visit unforgettable was our amazing server, Sam. Sam went above and beyond to make sure our meal was perfect—attentive, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring everything came out just right. The recommendations were spot-on and made the whole experience feel special from start to finish. The food itself was phenomenal—every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. You could really taste the freshness and authenticity in every bite. Between the incredible service from Sam and the delicious food, Ding How has easily become one of our new favorite restaurants in San Antonio. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing Chinese food and top-notch service!
The atmosphere is amazing, carved wooden framed art with fine details, calligraphy paintings, ink paintings paired with friendly and attentive service and absolutely divine food and fragrant teas. You won't regret it, ask for Sam's section. She is amazing and you won't regret it.
This place was okay. Food wasn't bad but I can't say I enjoyed it either. I went with my go-to Generals Tso chicken and it was different from what I'm used to. I like a more spicy Generals chicken theirs is almost sweet. The portion was extremely large and it could've easily been a shareable plate. The rice was good just a tad dry. I'd much rather pay the same price for a much higher quality dish. I can't complain, it was good enough. I did try a bit of their orange chicken which i did enjoy. Our server was Katie, she was sweet and very attentive. My drink never went empty and I always had exactly what I needed. The place was pretty busy given the time of day. The restaurant was pretty nice and felt authentic. I liked their little fountain pond at the entrance. The music was also suiting which added to the experience. I hear so much about this place and perhaps I just didn't order one of their best dishes. I'd be back to try some more options in the future.
