I came for a tire rotation. I arrived at 8:20 am. Upon inspection it was determined that the 2 front tires were wore beyond being rotated. No problem there let's replace I said. I was told it would be about a hour. There was only 4 vehicles ahead of me. I left and came back at 9:45am my vehicle has not been moved. So I waited. I watched several vehicles come and go as mine just sat there. I inquired on how much longer it would be they said I should be the next in. I watched the some leave and 2 more pull in that had come in after me. After those 2 they finally pulled my vehicle in where it sat untouched for maybe 10 more minutes. Finally at 10:58am it's done. Of course no explanation. Just thank you for your patience. Just be honest about the wait time. I have wasted my morning. Give walk in a little priority.
Jose is probably the only redeeming quality about my whole experience here and why I dont go lower. Dropped the vehicle off in the morning which had to wait for the tires to arrive. The arrived at two and the vehicle didnt get finished till almost 5. To put the cherry on top, I was there when they pulled it out of the bay and proceeded to watch the service tech floor it and ride around the parking lot as if it were his personal vehicle. Inexcusable behavior in clients cars. Yes the service was done right, but seriously service in a timely fashion and professional while handling someone else's property would go a long way.
This review is for my last appointment to rotate and balance. Been using discount tire for over 20 years and never had a problem until now. After they rotated and balanced my tires, the guy told me hey just to let you know your wheel stud was broken when it came in. I told him everything was fine when I got here he said, whoever rotated and balanced them last time, broke it off and put a different nut on it. If we would’ve broken it, we’ll pay for it but since we didn’t, it’ll be on you to fix it. I said discount tire was the last one to rotate and balance So did you break it last time and try to hide it. Then, I looked at the stud, which didn’t have enough threads to even put a nut on it so their story didn’t make sense. I told him I thought they broke it. I asked to see this different lug nut that was on it at first they said they couldn’t find it and then they did find it. It was the same lug that was on the rest of my tire lugs and not a different lug nut. Once the Manager looked at the lug nut, he realized the stud was broken off inside and showed it to the technician. Only at that point the technician said I guess I must’ve broke it. It was a lot of back-and-forth for something that the technician broke and tried to hide or didn’t know it broke off. Who knows maybe it was broken the last time discount tire rotated and balanced the tires, but they didn’t say anything when they did. The technician did say the lug nut was awkward when it came off, so maybe it was double threaded last time or maybe they did it this time who knows. Luckily, I’m a person that ask questions and found their story didn’t make sense. So they gave me a form to go to a repair shop to get it fixed. Then, I had to set up an appointment for two days later and miss more work to get it fixed for their mistake. I get things happen and mistakes are made, but they were trying to blame me for their mistakes, which I did not like. Based on my most recent experience, I’m probably going to be looking for another tire company to work with. I’ll have to think about it. Update: Tyler, store manager, called me to apologize and said he discussed my experience with his staff and it shouldn’t have happened like that. I’m hopeful that they learn from this and someone else doesn’t have to go through what I experienced. He offered me a resolution for my experience, which I’m considering . At least the company cared enough to reach out and try to make it right.
Outstanding service from the team and Discount Tire (University Parkway, Winston-Salem) yesterday. Purchased new rims for my 1997 Ford F-150. I'm working on upgrading the truck after several years.
