The team at DTLA bikes is solid all around. Have been coming in for several months now and they take care of me every single time. They walk me through the challenges I’m having, the repair process and price fairly. Came in most recently as my cockpit came loose from the frame, was in and out in 10 minutes. Came here today to get my dogs stroller wheels repaired and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Definitely will come back here any time I need anything bike related. Nice selection of bikes and accessories and amazing customer service! Thank you!!

When I moved to LA in 2013, I bought my first bike (which was unfortunately stolen after a few years) from DTLA Bikes. Moved away from DTLA, and had not been to the shop since. This weekend I brought in my 5 year old bike for a tuneup, and it looks like new and rides great again. Extremely friendly and helpful peeps. Next tuneup definitely happening here.

During my second visit to this service, I was taken aback. The first time, they helped me and inflated my tire without any issues. But today, I came in with non-functioning brakes. They adjusted them, and the brakes started working — but now the bike itself became hard to just push. I asked why this was happening and initially got no answer "It's normal". I left the shop and checked the gaps between the brake pads, only to see that the rear wheel was touching one of the pads directly. I went back inside and asked them to loosen it slightly because it was too tight and the bike wouldn’t move properly. This is an e-bike, and when I asked why it was like this, they told me, "It needs to be turned on to ride well" (Wow, really?). I understand that the workers here do their job quickly and try to accommodate everyone, but today it felt like it was at my expense. I paid $40 for brakes that were tightened way too much and are now wearing out while riding. At first, the interaction was friendly, but as soon as I started asking questions, it turned passive-aggressive: "You're not listening to me, but since you came here with a problem, I'll touch your bike one last time," said the worker, loosening the rear brakes and then tightening them again. Then he just walked away. I had no choice but to ride to work. On my way to the subway, I realized that the rear brake lever wasn’t stopping the bike — it only stopped when I released the throttle. Only the front brakes were working properly. I just wanted to understand what was wrong with my bike and what needed fixing, but now I’m afraid I might have to replace the brakes entirely. I recently purchased a bike and brought it to ‘DTLA Bikes’ for a tune up. The guys were super helpful and set my bike up very quickly, changing seat, tires and chain. The bike felt great! Had to go back in a few days later to see if they could help make my bike more comfortable, I was having lots of back pain after rides. Manny (Head mechanic) explained that the bike I was riding was too small for me, he took me downstairs to the test ride track to let me ride some different bikes and see what difference the frame size made. I decided to trade my bike (58cm) for a (61cm). The new bike I’m riding is quite an upgrade from my original purchase, and I couldn’t be happier! I have been doing about 100 miles a week and have no back pain. Absolutely stoked on the ride and thank you to Manny and Ernie for taking such great care of me. Highly recommend these guys!!!
