Although we had a good experience in the store, the follow up contact and clarity on the "price promise" has since changed our opinion on furniture village. We purchased a sofa and footstool and as part of the purchase there was a small manager discount. We were advised to keep an eye on the sales and make sure we contacted them to get refunded on any items that were now discounted. The footstool was on offer so I called up only to be told that because of the managers discount, the price promise can't be fulfilled. Really disappointing as previous experience with other retailers e.g. oak furniture land shows they always fulfil the price promise and they are handled separate from any general discount. It felt sneaky and not quite in line with the "family run" business picture that was sold in the store.
We bought a wardrobe in 3 of September 2025, we paid £1800 cash!!! We waited 2 months for delivery, after delivery we realised that there is many issues on the wardrobe and some parts are missing, assemblers are said some things wrong it shouldn’t be like this, for fix the issues wardrobe parts are need to change and they gone. Since 7 weeks we are trying to fix the issues or return the wardrobe but nobody don’t care!!!! We went to store to talk with manager about this, but they are sending us to customer service line!!!! What a waste service! Our money is gone for nothing! They are just saying send a e mail, many times we sended e mails but they don’t care!!!!!!!!! They don’t follow the responsibility of the business!!! Customer service line is completely rubbish!!! They are saying we will contact you but never they don’t!! Stores manager is said we will do our best for you but they don’t!!!!!!!! That’s enough!!!!!! ENOUGH!!!! ENOUGH!!!!!!!! We will file a complaint with the Ministry of Trade!!! We will report to citizens advice consumer service!!! We will apply to court!!! Now you are kidding with us! You are asking for the order number and another informations?! 697203438 order number! If you check your emails then you will get another all informations! You are the worst furniture brand in the UK and you also have the worst customer service representatives.!!!!

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Furniture Village to buy a sofa I had seen online and was very interested in. When I arrived at the store, I asked a sales assistant for help. She briefly informed me and answered a few questions I had. Later, Tom Lawson, a sales consultant, approached me to assist further. Honestly, I really liked his approach — he treated me with respect, addressed me politely, and made me feel very comfortable. Everything was going smoothly until the day I actually purchased the sofa. From that moment on, I noticed a complete change in his attitude. Tom no longer spoke to me with the same respect and even took liberties I had never given him, making jokes that felt inappropriate. When he explained that I could finance the sofa, I thought it was a good option. However, during the process, their computer system failed and he was unable to continue. I ended up sitting there for about 20 minutes with no solution. Frustrated, I gave him my phone number and asked him to call me once the issue was resolved so we could move forward. A week later, I returned to the store to complete the financing. I explained to another employee that I was only there to finalize the process, but they told me they couldn’t help — apparently, since Tom had sold me the sofa, he also had to finish the financing. I was made to wait another 15 minutes while Tom dealt with other customers. When he finally attended to me, the exact same system issue happened again. He then had to call a colleague, who solved everything in less than a minute. The irony is that I had wasted another 15 minutes waiting for Tom when, in the end, someone else was perfectly capable of helping me. To me, it felt like the person who first refused to assist was simply being lazy and unwilling to work. When the process was finally complete, I expressed my frustration about how poorly the situation had been handled and the unreasonable amount of time I had been forced to wait. Tom dismissed my complaint with a shocking lack of professionalism, saying, “Well, nobody died.” Instead of showing empathy and apologizing, he acted as if I was the problem — even appearing offended that I dared to raise the issue. If Tom had treated me the way he did before the sale, I would have happily left a 5-star review. Unfortunately, I now believe he only showed respect until he secured the sale, after which his true attitude came out. I hope this feedback helps him improve in his role, because customers deserve far better treatment than what I experienced.
