I was there 2/12/26. It was PACKED. However, everyone was really sweet. They were so busy, but attentive. Acknowledge when you did have to wait due to the amount if patients coming in. Everyone was so sweet and thorough an really made me feel like my situation mattered. I could hear the staff talking and it sounded like a very busy an stressful day, but luckily they had donut cake so maybe that made everyone so pleasant LOL. But Dr. Creighton was thorough, kind, understanding, very easy to talk to and ask questions, and I believe she was a nurse, but Chris was also kind and efficient. The women at the front desk as well were very helpful and really made me feel like a priority. Great team of people.
I went to GCTC on 1-24-26 in the afternoon. There was hardly any patients there. I got right in to a waiting room. I've been going there for urgent care treatment for over 25 years. Dr De Rousi was the best doctor there and helped me many times with various issues. We got to know each other pretty well over the years. He is retired now. I went because I was having severe discomfort in my abdomen. I read up on my symptoms and knew I had something that required an antibiotic. I had already started taking a Prilosec the week before. I described my issues to Dr Sawant and he wanted to do x-rays and blood tests. When he came back he said everything was inconclusive and he suggested I see my primary and a Gastro doctor. I told him I needed immediate medication for my pain and symptoms and told him I was pretty sure I had either an ulcer or a bacterial infection and asked for an antibiotic. He rudely told me I didn't need one and walked out. The nurse tech came back with my release papers and I told her after reading them that it said right on them that a gastritis illness requires an antibiotic. She said she agreed and told me the doctor was very stubborn and not sympathetic. She went to ask him again for meds and he refused. I left and when I saw him on the way out I asked him again for antibiotics. He got very agitated and refused and told me to go cry to my primary. What professional doctor says that. I told him I was never coming back this after being a 25 year patient. He said " good." This guy should not be practicing medicine...he was abusive and rude and didn't care one bit about my issues. I called my primary on Tuesday and we did a telehealth call in which I described my issues and she agreed it sounded like a peptic ulcer. She prescribed an antibiotic, another acid reducer and a stomach lining coater. After 4 days on these I'm feeling some relief so I was right about the diagnosis. If you go to GCTC if you should get Dr Sawant an older Indian or Pakistani person by description so you know who I'm talking about...do not let him treat you...ask for someone else because you are going to be treated like a dog not a person. I've never written a bad review on a doctor but this guy is terrible and if you don't believe me keep reading the reviews and you'll see plenty of other bad ones about him. I wasted my time and copay going there and from now on I'm going to a Brown Health Urgent Care instead even though GCTC is 10 minutes away.
Very good experience at GCTC. Staff was professional and friendly. I had a laceration that required stitches. Doctor explained the procedure as he stitched my foot. Returned for wound follow up 3 days later and returned for the removal of stitches at day 7. Wait times varied. Initial visit was day after Christmas with a 2 hour wait. Very understandable with the number of individuals with respiratory illnesses. In and out in less than 15 minutes for wound follow up and removal of stitches. Very satisfied with the services provided.
Literally the worst experiences. Taking nothing away from the care, everyone does care and is very nice. The wait is long but like any urgent care that is open everyday it could come with a wait. However that does not mean you downplay my symptoms. I specifically told them my prior issues and they somewhat disregarded it and wanted to know my problem at the time being. This only made things worse, staying away from work as I told them I cannot do unless it will help me as I am in sales. I checked in on the 16th of December, they told me I did not have prior issues however they will give me prescription for my pain. A mouth swab was taken but no concerns to take me to another hospital for possible CAT scans. I called them again after taking my medication telling them I am still having issues with my sore throat, they then told me to come back and pay $50 again to pretty much tell me I have the Flu take this pill & you'll be good. Definitely was hesitant as he told me it's a new pill and expensive but here is a coupon because be he wants me on it, but who am I to go against a Doctor. This was now Sunday the 28th, because of this I was going through pain during work because I did not ask for time off, as I cannot continuously take time off for misdiagnosing me. I now decide to go to a different Hospital in Fall River Saint Anne's, Where their first question was how was I able to breathe and swallow. I was taken to get Cat Scans, where they found I had an Abscess in my throat, and they referred to take me over to RI Hospital where I had my previous issue that I told them I had tonsillitis at Garden City Urgent Care but nobody cared to look into that, once I did not have strep they were okay with that for some reason. I was taken to RI Hospital and they had to take out Blood and more with a syringe & scissors. Nothing but blood came out, as I was telling everyone it feels like I am swallowing blood. I went into Fall river Saint Anne's hospital at around 11am today the 1st of the year and was discharged from RI Hospital at 7:30pm and I feel 100% better, voice back and all. Simply if more attention and care was looked into my concerns that I spoke about I could have had this taken care of weeks ago. Instead they allowed me to go through this pain, & I would like to know why, cause $50 is not that much but to make me take time off work to misdiagnose me is terrible. Again everyone was somewhat nice didn't think anyone was rude, it was busy sure so it comes with it, but just more attention to detail could've prevented this review and others maybe in my situation. However they will never be seeing me again and you should consider going yourself. Save the time, the effort and your money. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
MY VISIT ON 11/12/2025 – 7:00 PM If I could give this place less than zero, I would. I have visited this location before because they are usually quick, and I had never had an issue—until today. Last week, my 4-year-old son had an accident at school and needed stitches on his chin. Today, 11/12/25 at 7:00 PM, we returned to have them removed. Let me tell you, the way my child was treated was unacceptable. The nurse—an older woman with white hair and short stature—spoke to my son so rudely that I genuinely thought she was going to strike him. I won’t deny that my son was upset during the stitch removal, but he is a child, and he was scared. It’s difficult enough for an adult to tolerate stitches—imagine a 4-year-old who doesn’t even understand what’s happening and has not yet learned how to regulate his emotions. What exactly do you expect from a 4-year-old? To behave like an adult? As a nurse or doctor, compassion should be a basic requirement of your job—especially when working with children. And if you lack compassion, you should not be in this profession at all. You never know if a child’s behavior is due to fear, autism, or another cognitive condition. Do better, or do not provide services. All the nurses were staring at my son with clear disapproval on their faces. I regret not speaking up in the moment because I was so focused on calming my son down after witnessing how the staff handled him. It wasn’t until afterward that I realized my 4-year-old was simply being a frightened child. Terrible service. I will never return. Please be cautious when bringing your children here, especially with that white-haired nurse.
