This place has the best chocolate in the world. Whenever you're in San Francisco, please go here and get chocolate. The chocolate experience is fun. We bought chocolate in all different flavors. They even have 100% cacao chocolate, and it is good.

Ghirardelli Square is iconic San Francisco - We closed our night out there. The Sunday we chose was delish and for us, perfect to share. The atmosphere was magical at the holiday season. Great options for dining and shopping with beautiful views of the bay at night. A comfortable area to stroll and enjoy the evening.

Full disclosure - we didn't do any research beforehand, so went in not knowing anything about it. We thought that if we were going to The Ghirardelli Experience that there would be some kind of educational tour, or museum, or chocolate demonstration - but we didn't see any of that. The main building was just a shop for purchasing their chocolate, some themed trinkets, and an assortment of ice cream desserts featuring their chocolate toppings. That being said, we did have a small hot fudge sundae, and enjoyed walking around the complex with eclectic shops and posh restaurants. There is a parking garage in the bottom of the complex. If you go during the week (M-Th), they will validate parking. We were there on a Friday, so we paid the $18 for 3 hours.

It is a good place to visit when you u visit sfo. The sundaes are real good. We got the Girardale wold famous hot fund he sundae . It is quite good for 2 people. For single person it might become heavy. We went on Friday, I still don’t underatand why all the shops are closed at 9:00 PM. Go early by 6-7:00 to enjoy other shops near by.

The best way to describe the Ghirardelli Chocolate Experience is to imagine if Ghirardelli built its own mall - it's a whole destination dedicated to chocolate. This isn't just a single shop; it's a collection of buildings with a restaurant, a store, a takeout counter, and more, all spread out in a large, walkable square. A helpful tip for first-timers: you don't need tickets to enter. It's an open part of the town that you can freely walk around and explore. I went for their World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae, and while it felt like a week's worth of calories, it was so incredibly good that I have zero regrets. It's a must-try. The staff are also really helpful if you're looking for gifts to take home, and they let you sample some of the chocolates while you shop. For a fun and delicious experience that's more than just a dessert stop, this place is fantastic. It's a quintessential San Francisco treat.
