My daughter started Harmony Road when she was 4 1/2 years old and has loved it from day one. Six years later my daughter still loves to go to piano with Miss Alix. These classes have helped my daughter with ear training, confidence to perform in front of people, and participate in recitals. Harmony has been a great experience for my daughter. We are very fortunate to find Miss Alix!
5yrs ago, we introduced piano to my oldest daughter. That is when she started going to Harmony Road Music School & I’m glad that we did. It is all worth it! Our goal is for our kids to play piano at church someday and YES, my 10yr old now plays at church and can play our favorite songs as well! But of course, they will not learn instantly or with just few lessons. You need to invest on it. With money, time, effort, dedication. At first, they need to start on being familiarized with the music while enjoying it. Especially when they started young, we have to introduce music while they think they’re just playing. Parents are encourage to join the class for they need our support. We are the one who will be with them when we get home. We are the one who will remind them to do their homework or to check if they’re doing it correctly according to what you’ve learned at class. Depends on your goal, our participation as a parent is a big part of your child development. If you look on the good side, you’ll appreciate that it’s a plus that you’re learning too! We love Miss Alix for she’s not only teaching how to play piano, but kids are also learning discipline. It is important for them to have discipline and routine to be able to reach their goal. Plus, they also learn to interact with others! The social development of the kids are very important! This year, my youngest one started piano lesson with Miss Alix too. And it’s a good thing that she saw her sister’s discipline on studying piano. Thanks to Miss Alix for her knowledge and passion on teaching. It motivates our kids. I highly recommend Harmony Road Music School! You won’t regret it!
We love Harmony Road Music School! Our daughter started with the class for toddlers and loved it! It really helped fuel her love for music at a young age. We then started in 1st grade with the age appropriate piano classes. Now she’s in 3rd grade and it has been a joy to see her grow in her piano skills over the years. She can now identify the key songs are in when she hears them on the radio, and her sight reading is impressive. Miss Alix makes learning piano fun for her and she loves being in a group environment with friends. The additional opportunities for fun holiday themed recitals/performances and Piano Guild have been additional music enrichment for our daughter as well. We highly recommend Harmony Road!
My five-year-old grandson loves his classes at Harmony Road Music School. He has been attending for over two years, learning about musical instruments, rhythm, and more all in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Last week we came to the last in his current series, and he said, "I am so sad that music class is over. I miss music class and Miss Alix." He is already looking forward to the summer session for his age group! Thank you for this marvelous enrichment opportunity.
As a former student and teacher of the Harmony Road music curriculum who has gone on to get a degree in music education, I only have good things to say about Alix’s programs! Toddler classes are tailored to fit your little one’s short attention span and are rooted in tenets of early childhood music education: teaching through play. I love that parents are active in classes as this helps with engagement and retention. My son adores Miss Alix and I know he is receiving quality instruction through our focused, structured time together in music class ❤️
