I have thick, curly hair and have always had trouble getting a haircut that I liked. Meghan at Honeycomb did a fantastic job with my hair. My hair ended up looking exactly the way I wanted. If you have thick, curly and difficult hair like mine, you definitely want your hair done with Meghan!!

I did a CEZANNE Keratin Smoothing Treatment with James. The result is not good at all. I understand that this treatment is not meant to straighten hair, but it should have helped reduce frizz, and it did nothing for my hair. I was charged $500 plus tip, and there was no noticeable improvement. I’m not sure whether this was due to the product itself or the application, but the service felt rushed. My hair was not fully flat-ironed; it was blow-dried and flat-ironed unevenly, and it seemed like he wanted to finish as quickly as possible. For reference, my hair is medium length but fairly thick. Regarding the experience, from the moment I entered, James was not friendly. I arrived 15 minutes early and didn’t feel like welcomed. Throughout the appointment, I had the impression that he did not enjoy doing the service and was annoyed. The only time he was nice was during the last 10 minutes, which felt tied to the expectation of a tip. Overall, I am very disappointed and feel that I lost a significant amount of money for no results.

James is the best! I’ve been going to him monthly for color for 4 years and he is also so thorough and accurate. When I first got to him my hair was full of different bands of color from the pandemic and other stylists. He worked with me to fix it and it now looks so good! Best shape it’s been in for years. He also does an amazing blowout and is just generally kind and honest and communicative.

I was really excited when I found Honeycomb online as the reviews were great but unfortunately I was unable to experience the joy of a new style. Prior to booking my appointment, I called the salon to ensure they could achieve the look I wanted, dying my hair from black to chestnut brown. The person I spoke with, Danny reassured me that this was possible and James would be the best stylist for this look. He told me that following booking, the stylist would text me to discuss color and the look I wanted to achieve. Unfortunately, James only texted me to ask me to move my appt up an hour, fine not a problem. I was running late as my uber made a wrong turn to only get a text en route from James, saying he wouldn’t have time for the blow out today as he had another client at 2:30. Once again, thats not problem, I can do that myself. Upon sitting down, James says what are we doing today - I show him the inspiration picture and the response is “I cant do that, I dont have time”. I proceeded to explain how I called the salon prior to ensure this was something that could be achieved and he again explains the process and that he doesn't have time to do that today as he has other clients. This was a really disappointing experience as no solutions were offered. As someone who made an appointment and took the time to call ahead, I was made to feel as though the other clients were far more important as James said Im apologize, I dont have time for that today as I have clients, which in fact anyone who makes an appointment, is in fact a client. Though both Danny and James were apologetic, there was no sense of urgency around possibly offering other times, different days, nothing. Very sad and disappointing salon and customer service experience.

Perfect neighborhood salon in the heart of Noe. Michael has worked magic on my hair - from going full brunette, to bangs, and fun styles and chops. Great music, easy booking + payment, natural light, and easy access in a cute alley off 24th st. Also, no problem bringing a small pup to hang out!
