You can find everything from gorgeous fabric stores, designer showrooms, and antique shops to stunning furniture, rugs, and lighting fixtures. The grounds are equally impressive, with beautiful fountains and a lovely atmosphere that makes it a joy to walk around. Highly recommend a visit!
Made the drive in today at 10:30 on a Saturday and only 3 of the 40 plus stores were even open. Total waste of time, don’t go in on the weekend.
I had no idea this place existed. This is your one-stop shop for all things high-end luxury design and building. Most places are open to the public. Some are by appointment only. If you are decorating, designing, building or remodeling you need to check this place out. There are hundreds of showrooms.
We had heard about this facility and were pointed in the direction to one of the businesses, called fixtures and something. We were unaware that it was a by appointment only and when we approached the business the door was locked. That's when we saw the sign in the window that said that it was an appointment only facility. A very snotty young woman came to the door unlocked the door and we thought that we were just going to go ahead and go inside. Will she manipulated blocking the entrance and that's when we were made fully aware that they only do complete interior design, by appointment, by a professional designer. Well, needless to say the experience was not a positive one, partially due to our own ignorance of the process. But the way that it was conveyed to us was just unmistakably rude.
Houston Design Center is small, clean, and peaceful. I started working here with an aesthetic food company that moved here as their business got bigger. The building is nice and you’ll get a lot of sunlight at many areas. They have limited parking though.
