I enjoy eating at Il Vicino. The food is prepared how I want every time. The service is on point for a place that is counter ordered. You pick your table after ordering the your food and drinks are served to you at your chosen table. All the of the servers moved around the space and all 3 checked on us at some point during our visit. However I unfortunately compare the atmosphere to the original location that has a much more relaxed vibe "Come, eat, have a bottle wine, stay and chat". This location seems more like fast food "get in get out". I did forget to take my photo of my gluten-free pizza before I took a bite.
My bf had the meatball pizza. It was very soggy and we didnt finish it. I ordered the salmon salad. It was pathetic. Whatever lettuce they use is bitter and had such long stems. The salmon wasn't even a filet. It looked like a very sparse amount of canned salmon. Our server however was very nice ans attentive.
The food is just as good as the College Hill location but it felt a bit less cozy than the other location. The spicy oil was delicious and top notch to the point that I would lick it all to savor it all. The meatball pizza was pretty good, and the chocolate cake was delicious and a great way to end the meal. The salad was decent. Overall, I would return to try more things on the menu.
Restaurant was clean and service was friendly and quick other than having our order taken. We had to wait while what looked like inventory was taken on a refrigerator behind the counter even though there was plenty of staff available. My wife had the Il Vicino salad which was okay and I had the Spinaci salad which was very good. For pizza, she had the Salsiccia which she said was alright. I had the Bianca which was pretty much a perfect combination of flavors. I found myself craving it today (I think it was the Gorgonzola calling to me). Price is good for the quality of food. Would eat here again and recommend to others.
Nice wood fired Pizza restaurant, with some ambience. I enjoyed the sausage and mushroom pizza. I got the 7 inch, they have a larger size too. Apparently, you order upfront when you come in, and then they deliver it to you. Would suggest visiting if you are in Wichita. Only minor thing is I would appreciate a stemmed wine glass. But that’s fairly insignificant.
