I went with my friend, it was both of our first times. This was recommended by someone she knew. This place was a great price for what it included. I called to make a reservation but they ended up texting me. Nudity is required, so if you're uncomfortable with that, this is not the place for you. When you get there you are given a bracelet which serves as your service number and key to unlock your cubby. You remove shoes before you enter the locker room area. They have vanities and hair dryers which is nice if you are going out after the fact. They also have a water and tea station to stay hydrated We came a bit early, explored the shared are which included a hot tub, wet sauna, dry sauna, and child plunge. We think there were more spaces we didn't explore. The hot tub was comfortably hot, the wet sauna was super steamy and drippy, the cold plunge was so cold. They provide a robe and towels along with shower heads to rinse off. Getting there early was great to soften up skin and muscles. My friend tried a body scrub and wrap combo she loved and i got the accupressure massage. I loved my massage. The lady walked on my back and got some got cracks out of it. She was amazing. My friend came out glowing with all fresh skin. We will definitely be back!
This was my first time getting a scrub and going to a spa. I was really excited! Unfortunately, the front desk person was not very kind and didn’t explain anything about the space to me and my friend who had never been there before. The towels and robes were quite tattered and smelled off. They didn’t give us slippers as they said they would online, and I felt uncomfortable walking around on the dirty floors, barefoot. The hot tub was a bit dirty and had green water, there were ants crawling in the corners, and I could see hairs and dirt all over the floor and sides of the hot tub. Overall, the place just didn’t seem very cleanly. The scrub was nice, but the people working in the treatment area weren’t very friendly. I would not come back.
I’ve been coming here for 13 years. Decent massage and spa, i like the diversity of the amenities: steam room, sauna, cold plunge, salt red room.. recently they removed the option of reusable slippers and didn’t make an effort to start offering disposable ones. It’s disgusting when you go to a spa and a bunch of women wearing their sneakers and boots in the same area where others are barefoot. This place needs to get their shit together. Bring your own slippers!
I was hesitant to try this facility my friend recommended because of the recent negative reviews, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. The inside is really nice—there are bathrooms, shoe lockers, separate lockers for your belongings, three standing open showers, three seated washing stations, a hot tub, a sauna, massage rooms, and scrubbing tables. They give you a bracelet with a number that matches your locker, and that’s what they call you by. On the women’s side, everyone is nude. I felt shy at first, but I quickly got comfortable because everyone is respectful and no one is paying attention to you. The scrub itself was amazing. It was a little rough at times, but never enough for me to ask her to stop or lighten up. Between each stage of the scrub, she poured warm water over me, which felt incredible. With my permission, she also washed my hair and scalp. The massage afterward was very good as well. Next time I’m in San Francisco, I’ll definitely return and plan to spend even more time there. The only downside is parking—it was very difficult to find, and after circling several times, I got lucky when someone pulled out on a side street. I recommend going early. One more tip: they don’t provide flip-flops, so bring a pair you don’t mind getting wet.
Exactly what I was looking for. I am someone who enjoys the sauna -> cold-plunge cycle, with some hot tub time too. Thats what I'm looking for in a spa. The spa was clean, had plenty of room for all the patrons, and had what I needed. The dry sauna was a good temperature and the cold plunge was PERFECT for me. It was very deep and spacious so more than 1 person could use it at a time, and it was cold enough to give me the benefits I needed but not so cold that I wasn't able to use it (like some places). If I could change anything I'd raise the hot tub temp a couple degrees, and maybe add a lay-flat option for the chairs. But other than that it was perfect. The price was fair, and the length of stay allowed was 3 hours, which is an hour longer than other spas I've been to. I've been to the other spas in the area and I'd probably pick this one. Kabuki: Nice facilities, but they let a man into the bathouse on women's only day. They let people just identify into the private areas, which makes women unsafe. Also, they asked me to be quiet when I was breathing loudly in the cold plunge for 30 seconds, despite the showers being 4x the sound lol. Pearl: Nice facilities, but hard to get in as a spa-only use patron. I like that they are actually women only. They don't have a men's section though, so can't bring my male friends. Imperial: Best of both worlds. They have a male section so male friends and family can join, and they also keep the male and female section actually separated and protect women. The facilities were exactly what I needed, lockerroom is clean, they have dyson blow dryers and a sink in the mirror room to freshen up before a date or going out. Showers have great pressure and temp. Sauna and cold plunge were perfect. Hot tub is large and nice. Price is better than the other two, and length of stay is better than the other two, and availability is also better than the other two.
