Was there for a party. Beautiful and spacious. Space for reception, large room for speakers, that converted to dance floor with DJ and beautiful outdoor balcony. Additional rooms on first floor. Wonderful for large parties/event in gorgeous historic building.

We had the most incredible experience planning our weddings at the Josephine Butler Parks Center (JBPC). After visiting multiple venues in Washington D.C., nothing compared to the beauty and charm of this stunning mansion and its lush gardens. The venue provides a perfect backdrop for any wedding, whether it’s an intimate ceremony or a grand celebration. From our first walkthrough with Steve, we were captivated by the unique layout, rich history, and artistic details in every room. The entire JBPC team made the planning process seamless. They were always available to answer our questions and accommodate our needs. Malina and the staff went above and beyond, guiding us through two additional tours to ensure everything was just right for our special day. For our receptions, we creatively utilized the space, seating 140 guests in the main ballroom while maximizing the dance floor area and bar on the balcony. Despite some tight seating arrangements, the atmosphere felt both spacious and intimate, making it a memorable day for everyone involved. Choosing JBPC not only ensured a beautiful wedding but also allowed us to support a wonderful cause. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to celebrate our love!

We got married here and had an amazing time! If you are looking for a venue that has elegance and character (as opposed to a boring ballroom) then go no further! The staff are all very professional and the center’s mission is incredible. You can also volunteer with them to help upkeep Meridian Hill Park and other parks around the city! They need people all of the time to make sure the park keeps looking its best and is an inviting space for all of the city’s residents. They have lots of tools and equipment to help you contribute. Their website is a little old, but feel free to call them to get information.

We checked out multiple venues in DC, but none captured the vision we had for our October 19, 2019 wedding like the Josephine Butler Parks Center. The space is beautiful enough to not need too much decoration but simple enough to be a blank canvas if you wanted to go big. We had 120 guests and it felt both spacious and intimate. Malina was very informative and helpful and has done the wedding rodeo enough times to have answers to every question we threw at her. And we felt especially great about using the Center because we knew we were supporting the Washington Parks!

I’ve photographed several weddings at the PARKS CENTER. Every time, the venue is well organized, plenty of room for vendors, and the guest seem to really enjoy the multi-level space. You also won’t be able to beat the access to one of the largest (and best) parks in DC. PLUS, the building is run by a local non-profit so a portion of the proceeds go back to doing great work here in DC. If your thinking about having a wedding, corporate, or family event, definitely check-out the JOSEPHINE BUTLER PARKS CENTER.
