0 star place I was told by the stylist that one colour would be applied at the sink and another when we returned to the chair. After the sink application, no further colour was applied, and the service was ended once I said the result looked good. I was still charged $200 for colouring, plus $75 for a haircut that was never priced upfront. Management later said the sink toner counted as the colour service, which was never explained at the time.paid almost 700 dollars for balayage and colouring but returned with getting ripped off after paying 200 for colouring seperate and head full of grey hairs Very poor transparency and refusal to acknowledge their mistake and lack in proper service efficiency

I had such a great experience with Daniel! He really listened to what I wanted and gave me a beautiful cut that suits me perfectly. I’m especially happy with the highlights, the colour is gorgeous, blended seamlessly, and looks so natural. Daniel is talented, professional, and made the whole appointment relaxing and enjoyable. I walked out feeling confident and refreshed. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fantastic cut and highlights!

I’ve been going to Kis Hair at different locations for a few years now and always had great service. This time I decided to try the Spencer Street salon for convenience. Even though I arrived on time for my appointment, I still ended up waiting for someone to attend to me. I was also repeatedly encouraged to add extra services, even after I politely explained why I didn’t want them. I get that upselling is part of the job and I’ve worked in retail too so I let it slide but it became really uncomfortable having to justify myself over and over. The salon itself didn’t feel clean either. There was hair all over the floor and on the counter in front of me. It was loud, staff were talking to each other in another language, and one person was even eating in the corner while I was getting my hair washed. The whole place just felt chaotic. Because they seemed overbooked, my appointment ran an hour over. The stylist told me the dye took longer to process because I was seated near the aircon, which made me wonder why I was put there in the first place. I ended up having the colour in for much longer than necessary, which I’m really not happy about. The whole experience was unpleasant and it’s sad to say that I won’t be going back.

The colors are always beautiful and long-lasting — as long as I follow Pumpkin’s care instructions, the color stays vibrant for months without fading. Pumpkin is also incredibly skilled at cutting hair, always paying close attention to what I want and sometimes even caring more about how the style looks on me than I do! I usually never post reviews on businesses but I feel like I have to serve a warning for anyone going to the salon at this time. I have been going to this salon for many years to get their Permanent Straightening treatment. I have gotten the treatment many times and have always been happy with the result. However, two months ago my treatment was completely botched. I paid $380 for the treatment, including a $60 conditioning treatment that I was not informed I would be charged for. My fringe, which has never been subjected to any straightening treatment and is completely new-grown hair, is so damaged that it is ZIGZAGGING everywhere. The finished result is not straight at all, with some curls remaining and parts of my hair being completely fried. Again, I have had this treatment many times before, so I understand it is NOT normal, nor my expectation. After contacting the clinic, I was informed that the stylist changed the treatment without telling me that he would do so. They claimed that he did a gentler treatment as he was worried that he would damage my hair. In doing so, he did not properly straighten my hair and the entire process was ineffective. Additionally, I don't know how he managed to damage my hair so severely if it was considered to be 'gentler' than all of the other times I got it done. MY HAIR HAS NEVER BEEN THIS DAMAGED. I requested a full refund, as is required by Victorian Consumer Laws when major damage occurs that is not fixable by a product or service. They informed me that it was against store policy to issue full refunds. Interesting considering there is a review here that states someone did indeed receive a full refund. They have since stopped answering my messages. Again, I advise that this salon read up on Victorian Consumer Laws. I will be moving to file a claim in Small Claims Court for both the total of the service and damages. $320 in credits that I cannot use because my hair will likely fall out if I pursue further treatment does not consist of a remedy OF MY CHOICE. Which is required by consumer laws. Please be warned that if you go to this salon and they mess up your treatment, you will not be given a refund.
