I ordered sushi rolls and dumplings, and they arrived within five minutes. The presentation was dull, the portion size was small, and the food was cold. The wasabi they provided looked like a frozen, green-colored material with brown color on its edges, so I didn’t even touch it. Overall, it was not a good experience. There is also a lot of noise in this place, so if you’re looking for a quiet place to eat, I would recommend avoiding it.
Took my daughter here today to celebrate her 8th birthday. She specifically wanted the hibachi experience. Atmosphere is nice/clean. I called and made reservations earlier in the week and was told we could bring cake/cupcakes. I forgot to ask about balloons on the phone so I asked a gentleman that appeared to be the owner or manager when arriving. I was told yes to the ballons but the cupcakes weren't allowed do to state regulations, food borne pathogens, blah blah blah..... I figured it was just a misunderstanding and I politely took them to the car. I specifically asked this gentleman because he kept anxiously looking over at our table as if we were doing something wrong. I thought removing the cupcakes would settle his anxiousness but he did this the entire time we were there and we felt unwelcomed. Not once did he approach the table to address any issues he may have observed or ask how everything tasted, etc like a topical team leader. He just stared with an unfriendly look on his face. The cook was entertaining.. However, he fed my 4 year old nephew what appeared to be butter and told him it was ice cream from the same spatula he prepared our food. The cook encouraged him to lick the spatula to remove the contents (and he did). Then the cook continued to prepare the food with the same utensil. Furthermore, they dropped off a desert for my baby girl and stated, they don't have time to sing happy birthday. I saw at least 3 staff members standing around doing nothing including "Mr Stare Alot". The fact that not 1 person was willing to take 20sec to sing Happy Birthday put everything into perspective (didn't expect the entire staff to stop what they're doing). We will not be returning here. We always get much better vibes at Sapprros.
This place is hit or miss. Food is decent. Never had anything terrible but they don’t exactly offer anything unique. Salad left much to be desired. Iceberg lettuce with watery dressing. Sushi was good tho. Service was decent. We had to ask for refills and sauces but they were somewhat busy so I’ll give them a pass. Still much better than other hibachi places in town.
Everything was good. Food was good, staff was accommodating, there is seating at the grills and for regular restaurant seating. I've been here a couple times. I will likely go back. However, typically the reason i go to a place like this is to be entertained by a skilled chef. I like the traditional flaming onion volcano, tricks with the eggs, tossing the shrimp - oops, you got the tail. Not much of that here - and i went on a Saturday eve. I feel like some of the "passion" has turned into just getting the food made. If you are going just to watch your food being made (with a moderate amount of interaction) this is a great choice. If you are looking for an entertainer to perform while cooking, there might be better options.
The food was great but they randomly added 18% for 4 people. The service wasn’t good waited on drinks and we tipped the cook and when asked about it they asked if we wanted them to get the money back from the cook.
