I have a black son. I called before I showed up for the 1st time. I specifically asked for a black barber but the one who answered the phone and scheduled my kids appointment assured me all the barbers were versatile in black hair. Rodrigo was his barber. Let's just say my kid walked out looking like he had just walked in. I sat there and noticed firing the cutting process, it barely looked like he was not cutting anything, maybe he had dull clippers?, the black barber is usually frequent never have this issue. There was hardly anything done to his hair. One other barber suggested i wash my kids hair so it can be handled better?? But if washing his hair would've been a better way to go, you would think that would've been suggested or recommended to me. It was not. Either way I thought it would look like something when I arrived home to wash and condition it myself but it looked the same as before he walked in, once again. I wish I would've gotten a refund tbh, but I used it as a teaching moment to my child. He knew the results wasn't up to par as he is used to but was afraid of speaking out but I let him know when you pay for a service, you expect the results you're supposed to get, no matter what or you kindly ask for a refund. I was trying to start with a new barber, because it seems they had a friendly cold environment but im gonna 100% go back to our original barber. It's way worth it. The haircuts at xsquisite off country club last for weeks at a time. This hair cut done at La Barberia...I just don't have any more words.
Signed up on the website for The Executive Cut -Thorough barber consultation, Precision Haircut/Fade & Edge up, Eye Brows, Nose and Ear Trim, & Hot Towel. I selected to be paired with any barber that would be available to morning of 01/09/1980. I was there from 10:30am to 11:31am. The "Thorough barber consultation" - he asked me what I wanted. I told him this is my first time at their establishment and told him where I usually go and what they usually do (it is a chain and their haircuts are significantly cheaper) and asked him what he thought would be best. He said ok and that was it - apron was on and he starts cutting. Eye Brows, Nose and Ear Trim - Eye Brows weren't addressed, which is fine, I asked about the nose hair and ear hair, because I could see it and feel it with my hands, but he said there is none there. I can tug on the hair and my ear is moving, so there is enough for me to grab on to and the ear moves, yet I am told there is none there - ok cool. Same with the nose hair. (see photos) He also did a beard trim. Technically it is not included and he didn't charge me and thankfully he didn't. Its not even straight! They have all of these mirrors, brushes, lights, and can lean your seat back to make you lay flat - yet it is still crooked in the end?! I usually trim it myself at home or maybe have Ricky at Mt Tabor Barber on Polo Rd do it and its never been crooked and I have zero training and I'm sure my Wal-Mart trimmer is not better than what the "pros" here use. (see photos) The whole time the barber/stylist was either on his phone or speaking with the other barbers, barely spoke with me or interacted with me other than asking me to move or adjust my head or neck. Overall the experience wasn't good, the haircut will have to be fixed this week at one of my usually, reliable, more detail oriented places - either Great Clips or Mt Tabor Barber. However the haircut was needed for an event that weekend and the damage is done and obvious in the photos. However one thing was good - the fade from the sideburns to the beard. Great job. That was done very well. (that's what the 2 stars are for in the rating) So I can go to Mt Tabor Barber or Great Clips and get between 2 to 4 haircuts for the same price that I paid for one here. The final results, the experience, treatment and their genuine attention to details will all be better and they actually communicate with you and have a conversation with you AND you will be out in about 30 mins. OR you can go here - La Barberia Barbershop & Social Club and spend at least 45 mins here (not including the "social club" part - whatever that is?!), look at a random motorcycle in the middle of the shop, employees putting their Glock away in their drawer before starting their shift (no one cares you have a gun - but why make it so obvious so everyone can see?!), the barber barely speaks with you, there is a fisher-price pool table in the back, and an arcade basketball game thing, a couch to sit and play video games from different systems, sprayed with some kind of "aftershave" that smells like the juices that drip out of the back of the city garbage trucks and hope to leave with a semi decent haircut with hopes that someone else can fix it for you later.
My now Husband got his hair cut last minute the day before our wedding! Let’s just say he was the best looking groom ever! The cut was amazing! The shop was awesome and made him feel very comfortable. Great pricing! The barber was very professional but had a great sense of humor and held conversation well.
La Barberia is amazing! We absolutely love it here. My son’s haircut always turns out perfect—Braden does an incredible job. Everyone here is friendly, professional, and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great cut and great service!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was one of the very first times I’ve ever had my hair cut by a professional barber, and Osman Rosales really set the bar high. He made the whole experience easy and comfortable, and the end result was better than I expected. The fade was clean, the lineup was sharp, and everything was done with real attention to detail. You can tell he knows his craft and cares about getting it right. If you’re looking for a barber who’s professional, skilled, and makes you feel confident walking out the door — Osman is that guy. Highly recommend!
