Nice but..... 1. Site 121 was very unlevel. 5 blocks under the wheels was not enough. 2. Loop 100 shower was at best luke warm. 3. Bathroon motion detector sink faucet did not work. 4. Exit gate was padlocked so we could not leave at 5 am. (SP should consider exit gate spikes. Google search found the from $300 to $1800. On the bright side, the dump station was sloped well.
Nice park, very close to highway and airport, but it is a little oasis. Campsites are large with great shelters, all semi private and spaced apart well. Washrooms could do with a revamp. Nice that the campground and day use area are on completely opposite sides of the lake. It means the campground stay fairly quiet.
Stayed here while I was in town for work. Very quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Lots of hiking trails and clean restrooms and showers! I will definitely stay here again!
I visited mid-May on a weekend and the park was very busy. However, I got a campsite and aside from being not quite level it was nice enough. Wonderful hot water showers! The restroom was clean and fully functional. They have quiet hours at this park, and in fairness, the music did stop in about 9:00 at night, but there were people talking every time I woke up until morning. Oh, and there were some wild hogs fighting right behind my campsite! I found that a bit entertaining, but I suppose not everyone would appreciate it. LOL. Overall, it's a pretty nice place to spend the night.
We had a great week here. We stayed in site 106 - full hookups, nice afternoon shade and great access to the lake. It was very quiet while we were there (Apr 12-18) with only a couple of other RVs in the loop - felt like we had the place to ourselves. We enjoyed walking in the morning to the fishing pier and the old museum on the hill. We would definitely stay here again when back in Laredo.
