Just received my second order of Japanese Maples from Maple Ridge and am very happy, once again. The first time I went to the nursery and bought a Sister Ghost, Strawberry Spring and Mikawa Yatsubusa. This time I ordered online a Margaret B, Wildfire and Scolopendrifolium Rubrum. I am extremely pleased with my shipped trees. Fed Ex beat the hell out of one of my tree boxes but because of the excellent packing job, my tree was unharmed. I will be ordering again from Maple Ridge and highly recommend buying from them!
Ordered 16 plants, 4 arrived scorched. Not sure the 4 scorched trees will survive. Shipping was delayed due to heat but I feel like it should have been delayed longer. Sent pics to the nursery but was told they might push out new growth. Not happy at all with 1/4 of my order. Most likely wont order again
First time ordering Japanese maples online from them. All ten trees arrived in perfect condition. They truly put a lot of care to make sure trees arrive in same beautiful condition as it was at the nursery. They did not attempt to cram all in one box like few other sellers I have purchased from. These are very well maintained plants. Healthy full root system. The trees them selves all have beautiful form. All I had to do was give it a pretty pot and sit back and enjoy their beauty. Same time I had other JM from different sellers which are now sadly recouping. Will definitely be a returning customer for my future plant needs. I have definitely bragged about my superior experience with Maple Ridge Nursery to all my plant friends.
Purchased a small Japanese red maple tree. The entire process was amazing. The care guides they send with your purchase helped me care for it confidently. While my final decision on where and how to care for it changed, I am thankful it arrived safely and in spectacular shape. The family that cares for and chooses the trees to be sent to customers deserve all the recognition. I look forward to a long and fulfilling journey with my new shindeshojo Japanese red maple bonsai. Thank you Maple Ridge Nursery for such a healthy and strong plant!
Update - 9 out of 19 trees I purchased from Maple Ridge in the fall have died. It looks like they are repotting liners into 1g pots. See updated pics and would explain why some of their prices are so cheap compared to other nurseries. Prices are fair for Japanese maples and they have a good selection of cultivars. Their attention to detail when it comes to shipping is some of the best I’ve bought from but the sizes of their 1g are small compared to other online nurseries and that’s the reason for the average review. There’s always risk buying online since the majority of the time it’s sight unseen but I’ve learned over time that with a little patience the majority of the trees offered can be found somewhere online in the sale $35-$45 price range and you will get a far more mature tree waiting. I’ve since asked around to others and that seems to be the consensus regarding the size of the tree. Lesson learned that it’s better to be patient when you buy or you will need to be a lot more patience waiting for the tree to grow to the industry average for a 1g.
