The store was messy. It was nearly impossible to find a price on anything, and when I could find prices, they were wrong. I bought one chalk marker that said it was $4.99 on the hanger price. But wound up being $7 at the cash register. On top of that, the employees were apathetic at best. Save yourself the hassle and just shop Hobby Lobby.
It’s a holiday weekend, and while most people are kind and patient during this time, my experience today was disappointing. Around 2:20 PM, the cashier was sarcastic, snarky, and came off condescending when I showed her my voucher directly from my email. The voucher was valid and expired today, yet I was told I couldn’t use it and was made to feel questioned unnecessarily. What made it more frustrating was seeing the same cashier waving goodbye to a customer I later noticed putting items into a black purse while shopping with their daughter. Maybe focusing more on the store cameras instead of questioning a clearly valid email voucher would help prevent actual theft. Holidays are stressful enough—basic respect goes a long way. Happy holidays to everyone else.
While they were nice about their error, they still made a huge error that negatively impacted my holiday crafting. I ordered the last of a stock item and chose the Natomas selection as it was the only location inside Sacramento to have the item, even though it's a 20-minute drive from my home. They not only marked it as picked up when it was not, but when I called to confirm it was still in store validated it was and assured me it would be there the following day. They would put a note on it. My fiancé when to pick up my items and they were nowhere to be found. We made the trip for absolutely no reason, and now, Michaels is completely out of stock of said item within a 30-minute driving distance. Severely disappointed.
I went to get a few things for a project I was working on. I had cash so I couldn't use the kiosk, Aden assisted me such a sweet young man so polite. We were talking as he was ringing me up and he mentioned that they were doing $5.00 grab boxes. I asked him what's in them he said old seasonal things that they are trying to clear out. He was honest, which I appreciated that. But he also said it's a surprise, he said you like surprises right I'm like no I don't. We started laughing and because he was just super dope and down to earth, I purchased. He said when you come back tell me what was in there so I made a video instead. Way to go Aden, you rock. Until next time. Sidenote. My video is a mess had to record it myself. Yikes 😉lol.
The Michaels store in Natomas has more regular carry items in stock than most of the other Michaels in the Sacramento area. So I like to come to this store when I'm in the area. The idea is to try to get everything in one trip. The store layout is the same as most of the Michaels in the region. It's easy to navigate and find the items I'm looking for. The checkout cashier counter usually has no or very short lines. I can get all the stuff very quickly.
