Went to Oste for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We had a reservation for 6:45pm. We parked on the street a block away - there was plenty of paid street parking available. We were seated almost immediately when we got there. Thats not to say there wasn’t a large crowd at the restaurant, but our table (booth actually!) was ready within a few minutes of our arrival. Most of the tables seemed taken but there were a few spots at the bar for walk-ins. The service was very good, friendly and efficient. We ordered a few drinks, appetizers and two pinsa. The appetizer portions felt small and we were concerned about the size of the pinsa! The drinks came out first and soon after appetizers came out quickly. The pinsa followed that. They were pretty large actually! We then ordered two desserts and an espresso to top off dinner. Overall, I would say the service was excellent and very efficient. The ambiance was great. All the food came out quickly, and we felt like we were rushing through each course. The taste was good too. We particularly liked the appetizers. The pinsa were great - the crust was very light and airy, clearly much higher hydration dough than pizza. With that said, I don’t think a pinsa will be a substitute for a good pizza when I crave one!! The desserts (Tiramisu and Budino) were not particularly good, I would pass on those.
📍 OSTE 8142 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048 We had a fantastic experience at Oste celebrating my friend’s birthday 🎉. From start to finish, everything was excellent, and it quickly became one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Service & Atmosphere: 🌟 Exceptional service from every staff member. Our server was attentive, kind, and gave great recommendations. 💡 Note: 20% gratuity is already included in the bill. 🚗 Street parking available or valet right at the entrance. Bread & Pinsa (Pizza): 🍞 The bread and pinsa crust were absolute perfection — thin, crispy, cracker-like edges with soft pockets inside. Light and not heavy at all. • 🍄 Funghi Pinsa – Hands down the best dish of the night. Rich truffle flavor, generous mushrooms, and an incredible crust. This alone is worth coming back for. • 🥓🍳 Carbonara Pinsa – Literally perfect. Made with applewood bacon, pecorino Romano, and topped with an egg. Must break and spread the egg over the entire pinsa before eating. Highly recommend. Appetizers: • 🥩 Wagyu Beef Tartare – Super flavorful with shallots, parsley, and quail egg, but not my personal favorite. • 🍅 Polpettine (Meatballs) – Three small, homemade meatballs. Moist, extremely saucy, and perfect with bread. • 🦪 Claudia Mussels – Shallots, bacon, white wine, garlic, and parsley. Absolutely delicious. The broth is so good I could drink a bowl of it. Next time, I’d order this with fries just to soak up more sauce. • 🦪 OSTE Mussels (Signature) – Garlic, white wine, basil, and marinara. Addicting sauce and great for bread dipping, though I personally preferred the Claudia mussels. Pastas & Mains: • 🍝 Pappardelle alla Vaccinara – Freshly made noodles and deeply flavorful oxtail ragù. Slightly salty for my taste with a noticeable ginger note, but the braised oxtail itself was incredible. • 🍝 Rigatoni Amatriciana – Highly recommend. Fresh, dense pasta with a great amount of sauce. • 🦐 Frutti di Mare Pasta – Unique and delicious sauce. Seafood medley with squid ink tagliatelle and grilled shrimp. Light and very well balanced. • 🧀 Lasagna al Forno – Okay, but a bit too heavy for my preference. • 🥟 Tortellini – Smaller portion, complex flavors and great texture, but not my favorite. • 🍗 Chicken Milanese – Perfectly crispy and well cooked. Sides were decent. • 🌶️ Aglio e Olio – Too oily and not spicy at all (we expected spice). This was my least favorite dish. Dessert & Drinks: • 🍰 Tiramisu & Cocktails – Mediocre and not very memorable. Overall: Outstanding service, amazing pinsa, and many standout dishes. Despite a few misses, this place has officially become my go-to restaurant whenever I’m in Los Angeles. Highly recommend! ❤️
EVERYONE must come to Oste. If you want a taste of true Italian cuisine (and what Roman bread tastes like), then you have to eat here. Since visiting the country, I'm somewhat of an aficionado for the Italian cuisine. Particularly the bread. You won't ever have a bread as light, as crispy or as delicious as bread from Italy - Rome in particular, which the owner will attest to. Oste surprised me in every way. The owner is so nice (we had a fun story about my Lime scooter parking - DO NOT park it by the restaurant), genuine Roman Italian and very welcoming. The wine is almost exclusively Italian, which I can drink by the bottle with a stainless steel straw. The aforementioned bread is a "secret recipe", and with good reason because it does NOT fill you up like most bread in the States. My mussels (I ordered the Sofias) were light, tasty, and paired perfectly with a Vermentino. The pasta was made to al dente perfection - perfezione al dente - and the guanciale was amazing, paired with their popular BTG Nebbiolo. The sauce was fantastic as well. And to finish, I had their tiramisu - the famous Italian dessert we all know and (hopefully) love. I've never had a more perfect tiramisu outside of Italy, I ate the entire thing and made my pant button strain. Folks, Oste is a phenomenon of Italian cooking. You haven't tried authentic LA Italian food until you've paid Alessandro a visit. Also, ask for Min for a great server here. He was awesome as well!
Oste absolutely nails it in all aspects, in my opinion— I haven’t had a single bad dish there, and the service and overall experience has been just absolutely amazing. Most recently we tried, among other things, the Oste pizza with Mozzarella, pecorino, red onions, guanciale, and rosemary— had only gotten the margarita in the past— and it was an absolute 10. The only thing maybe better was the tiramisu, which……I really have no words for, just try it. Perfection. The bartender was super helpful and made great recommendations, and the owner greeted us and followed up with us before and after our meal. Also loved the little R2D2 espresso station, had not noticed it previously.
Oste in Beverly Grove is a delightful Italian gem that never disappoints. Their pinsa—a Roman-style pizza—is a must-try. The dough is light, airy, and perfectly charred, offering a unique twist on traditional pizza. I highly recommend the XXtra Pepperoni Lovers Pinsa for a flavorful experience. The drink menu complements the meal beautifully, and Barman Owen is an outstanding host—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making every visit even more enjoyable. 🍸 And their tiramisu… wow! Creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, it’s the ideal way to end a meal. 🍰 Whether you're a local or visiting, Oste offers a warm ambiance, consistently excellent food and drinks, and top-notch service. It's a spot I always look forward to returning to.
