Gabriel completely changed my life. If you’re reading this, I’m going to sound like a liar because it just sounds too good to be true. But I swear working with Gabriel was the best decision I ever made. I have a 1yr old dachshund who was notoriously reactive. He barked at everything from bikes to other dogs to the wind blowing the wrong way. It was so bad that some days I couldn’t walk him more than 2ft outside our front door before he’s see something that would set him off and the day would be ruined. He could not go to dog parks. He could not meet other dogs on the street. He could not be around children. His behavior got him nicknamed “the lil devil” around the neighborhood and my in laws had asked us not to bring him to Christmas this year! We tried training I had picked up from when my older dog went through training years prior. No use. We tried a different trainer through another company. She was friendly and had us try positive reinforcement treat training while outside. But it did not help in the slightest. We tried for weeks and saw no improvement. I then tried every YouTube channel I could find on dog training and spent an hours outside with him at a time, seeing only very minimal improvement on occasion. I thought all hope was lost. Then finally I decided to trust a review I found on Reddit for Pawmos. I signed up but expected little. Thankfully I was too quick to judge. After ONE session my dog was immediately more well behaved. Gabriel had us switch our leash and gave me pointers on how to communicate effectively with the leash and my dog. By the end of the 1hr session my dog was not only walking without pulling, he also met other dogs on the street, and went to the park where he played with other dogs both on and off leash! I thought for sure it had to be a fluke. No way could one session solve 99% of my dogs problems. But I was wrong. I followed Gabriel’s advice and going on walks now is a breeze. My family can’t believe this is the same dog. I enjoy being a pet owner again. I’m able to take my dog into stores and to the dog park and walk around a very triggering city with almost no problems (he still has a few minor grumbles but it’s 0.0001% of the intensity as before and corrects himself quickly). If you are at the end of your rope literally can’t figure out what else to do, the answer is pawmos. The cost of a session can’t even come close to the reward of having a well behaved dog.
Another 5 star review for Gabriel, the most incredible dog trainer my husband or I have ever consulted with in my entire life of dog ownership. He completely reframes how you think about dog training, from the basis of behavioral training frameworks vs. obedience training, which is the more commonly taught approach. He helped us understand the mind and motivations of our Boston Terrier and how to communicate a consistence presence of calm using the leash as a tool even in the home (that will eventually no longer be needed). We're working on pulling during walks (fixed IMMEDIATELY btw) and more so barking when the doorbell rings, people knock, or folks come over. The latter will take some time, but already seeing improvements in the frequency and intensity of our pup's responses to those stimuli. Gabriel is premium in price, but the value, quality, and content of his sessions, plus his obvious goal to empower you with the information and tools you need to succeed, make him a no-brainer worthwhile investment for you and your pup.
This was the first time we had rescued a pup, and we wanted to learn to communicate well with him and understand his behaviors while learning how to train him. Gabriel framed parameters for us to understand what we were experiencing with Mr. Spock. He gave us practical information that helped us perceive Spock's fears and giving us ways of responding to his behaviors. We had also tried behavior modification techniques with another trainer. Gabriel's methods and explanations worked well for our dog and we are very appreciative for his information and help. When Spock arrived, he was unable to walk urban blocks. With Gabriel's help, he now walks and is familiarized with his home neighborhood. We very much trust his methods and are grateful! Thanks Gabriel!
Gabriel completely changed our lives with our 4.5 month old puppy, Mia. When we adopted her we noticed very quickly that she was unable to settle on her own, which is not something we had experienced with other dogs in our lives before. She would get overstimulated and overtired so easily and then wouldn’t sleep, which just contributed to more problems. Since she couldn’t sleep or calm down on her own, she would bark, get bad cases of zoomies, nip/bite on furniture constantly and so much more. Mia hated her crate as well which made things even more challenging. We had Mia stay with Gabriel and his family in their home for 8 days. When I say I got back a completely different puppy, I am not exaggerating. He was able to work with her on self-settling while also teaching her recall, manners with other dogs, and shaping up some of our leash training. Mia has amazing recall now - we can take her off leash to the park, and feel confident that she will stick by us and listen. She also naps on her own now, which may seem like a small thing, but wow, what a difference. Having a puppy who doesn’t sleep on their own was draining on us, but now, she is a completely different dog, and she’s so much happier now! Gabriel taught us that we don’t have to go overboard with “trying to tire our active dog out”. In fact, the advice we had gotten from other trainers and things we were trying before “to tire her out” were contributing to her getting overstimulated. Gabriel helped us correct that, and we are so grateful to him! Overall, Gabriel is one of the best people we have ever met and he completely changed our lives for the better with our Mia.
We grew up with dogs and never had to have a trainer before, but our sweet Bernese Mountain Dog was getting into trouble with his curiosity and exuberance for all creatures. He would run off, break through his electric fence, chase deer, and engage with dogs and people who clearly were not interested. We called Gabriel the moment our guy’s behavior became unsafe, and he came straight away and helped us immensely! Gabriel made an immediate connection with Preston and was so kind and non- judgmental. He encouraged us to take videos of our sessions to refer to and also took outside time to send us recaps of the lessons. He worked with us twice in the home (to crate train and stay on the property), once for leash training, and met us once at the beach for off leash training – and that is all it took. He even came for a next day emergency session when our older dog passed, and Preston experienced a slight regression due to grief. We are forever grateful to Gabriel and recommend him without reservation. He truly has a gift for understanding our beloved canines. We learned so much from Gabriel and his training is lasting. We are now the envy of the neighborhood and in our travels for having such a friendly, well trained, happy gentle giant!!
