I put my dog into the groom room for a full groom on Saturday and i was totally appalled by the way they had treated him, I had phone calls and all I got was excuse after excuse from them not to do anything first they said he had some kind of disease in his eyes .I explained he had been to the vets which is next to them, vets for pets yesterday and he has a few allergies and is on tablets but is totally fine as he had a full check up, but as the breed is known for sleeping a lot and he gets a lot of sleep in his eyes. Then they complained that he would not let them wash his head or wrinkles or clean his ears or clean his teeth, but could wash rest of him and cut his nails, obviously the staff do need better training, and on picking him up early as I was asked to do i could see that they were over run with animals so it was quite obvious that they had too many bookings for that day so putting money before anything, I also noticed when getting my dog home they had missed some of his toe nails and on my receipt they had put matting down as an excuse not to do anything but the dog is a short breed dog not a woolly dog so would not have had any matting. I will never put my dog through that again as I feel the groom room are being very cruel to my pet shame on you for the way you treat animals.

Super friendly staff. Took my dog to choose a toy and some treats as in my rush I left his back home in Berkshire. They were so very kind toward him and lovely people.

I was very disappointed with Pets at Home on Newport Road. Not only are their prices extremely high, but they also charge for things that really shouldn’t cost extra. Having to pay for a basic check-up is unbelievable, and being charged £32 just to have two nails trimmed (because one was damaged) felt completely unreasonable. On top of that, prescriptions are far more expensive than buying online, and the customer service is poor. Overall, I feel they overcharge and don’t put customers first. You can get much better value and care elsewhere.

Staff is always friendly understanding that some dogs don't like pets and respectful even if the dog is friendly looking to ask. They always have treats. The self wash in the groom room is amazing! Some photos of our shower today attached. Just a super useful store and great atmosphere. The vets and nurses are amazing too... And we have never regretted taking their pets packages for our cats and dog for monthly subscription pay to always have the flea and wormer when whenever we want a nurse check up and vacation booster every year at the ready. Our cats might not like the trip but for our dog is always ecstatic when we come even near the shop whether it's is a vets visit or a trip to pick up his (supcribed) food or just a short stop.

My chihuahua always looks a billion dollars after coming to the groom room here. Also staff are extremely gifted with their knowledge of pets. Shout out to Jodi who gave me fab advice about pet nutrition and helped my dog with flea repellent. £4 a month to treat your pet and you never have to worry about fleas again!
