Changing my review from 5 stars to 1 after being a member for one year. I was new to pilates when I found RPLA. The studio had just opened and the head instructor Ashley was fantastic (she was the owner Kollins' girlfriend which will be relevant later). She made the space warm and inviting. I shortly after discovered the best instructor ever. We had a good thing going for almost a year when Ashley abruptly announced she was gone on social media. The studio never even acknowledged her departure, just leaving a big hole in the schedule to be filled by their subpar other instructors. It was very unprofessional on the part of the studio to first say Ashley would be out of town and then just remove her without saying a word. This is when things started to go down hill. I witnessed equipment failure on multiple occasions including a foot bar becoming detached on one side while someone was using a machine. When I texted Reform about what I witnessed Kollins texted me saying he had been depressed and not himself which I guess for him is a reasonable excuse to not maintain your pilates equipment and put your clients in harm's way. The straw that broke the camels back for me was Kollins choosing to fire my favorite instructor for what was in my opinion a very dumb reason. When you fire an instructor you are not just punishing them you are punishing your clientele and the community they have built. You disrupt people's weekly routine. When I brought this up to Kollins he could not have cared less. I made a Tiktok expressing my unhappiness about her firing and cancelled my membership. After I cancelled my membership Kollins blocked me on social media. I would recommend finding a business that values its clients and instructors more than Reform has shown they do. Editing to add: Reform charged my credit card $10 over two weeks after my membership had been canceled. I believe this was retaliation for my negative review.
If you’re looking for Pilates and community, this is the place. I joined when the studio first opened last year, it was my very first time trying Pilates, something I’d always wanted to do and I can honestly say it’s been such a rewarding experience. A year later, the level of kindness, care, and attention to detail is still just as strong. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and there are so many thoughtful touches that make the experience feel special. I first came to know Kollins through the boxing gym next door, Members Only (go members!). From day one, I felt community and connection there, and that’s all because of him, he pours so much love, dedication, and perfectionism into everything he creates. When he opened the Pilates studio, I knew it would have the same foundation of quality and care, just with a slightly softer feel compared to the high-energy vibe of the boxing gym. The instructors here are fantastic. Each one brings their own style, which means classes are never boring, and I always leave feeling challenged in a good way. While some of the original instructors have moved on, the new ones have stepped in with so much heart and effort that it feels like the standard has not only been maintained but also evolved. What stands out most to me is the culture of this studio. It’s not just about getting a workout, it’s about being part of a community that cares. If you want Pilates instruction that’s professional and effective, combined with an atmosphere that’s welcoming and supportive, you’ll find it here.
I’ve been taking Reformer Pilates classes here since June and absolutely love it! I had tried Pilates somewhere else before, but this place is by far my favorite. The instructors are all wonderful — professional, encouraging, and attentive. I also appreciate how thoughtful they are, always offering complimentary samples of whey protein or juice after class. Highly recommend!
My favorite pilates studio in LA! Smaller size classes compared to other studios, which allows for more personalized attention to build form and technique. The instructors have their own unique style of teaching and coming to class is never boring. A very welcoming studio for all levels. Highly recommend
This space is so beautiful! I’ve been taking classes for a month & I’m already seeing a massive difference in my strength. I really love taking Ashley’s classes. She has such a light and bright energy. I highly recommend this studio! It’s very open and inviting.
