This used to be one of the best places to go. I stopped going because they started changing their employees for the longest. I gave my trust into it went there and this is how they served their Colorado burritos that's supposed to have steak in it nothing but potatoes and pico de gallo, there's no carne the first picture is the first bite middle and the end. I'm no longer going there anymore and it makes me sad because I grew up on this and it was always good n authentic but look guys it's 2025
The caso was basically water, my steak in my burrito was so dry, I could barely chew it. Even the guacamole is watery To make matters worse the don't let you order ice water, they try and force u to buy bottled water. After paying 30$ for crappy food I should be able to order a ice water. Then the worker was rude about it, and scoffed when I said no thank u to bottlesd water. Will never return, there are so many better quality Mexican food in Wichita with the exact same menus. Very sad this place used to be amazing precovid, now service and food quality has hit rock bottom.
Tables wobbles, trash on the floor, seats are torn up, flies buzzing.. ordered a chimichanga and it was filled with water.. topped with “guacamole” ordered chips and guacamole and I thought it would be freshly made but it came from a bag.. it was so thick and gross
Early morning drop off at airport so was looking for a place to pickup breakfast. It was either this or McDonald’s, glad we took the chance to try something new. The burrito’s were a foot long and full of fillings, was not able to eat it all. Could have shared one. Because it had no sauce on the filling, it will warm up nicely. And the sauce! It was green chili sauce that went great on the burrito.
Had my first visit to Rene’s last night. I have been looking for a place that has a good asada burrito with beans and rice inside. Most places add in too much other stuff. Rene’s did not disappoint with the Gringo burrito. The burrito was full and tasty with a bunch of flavor. The chicken tacos were good as well. Lots of flavor with a bunch of chicken in it. I was dine-in and got my food in less than 5 minutes during peak dinner time. Customer service was super friendly and helpful with my questions. Dining area was really clean and salsa bar was fully stocked. Parking is really limited though. I live almost an hour away, but anytime I am on the west side of Wichita, you better believe I will be stopping at Rene’s. They just earned a lifelong customer. Thank you.
