Enjoyed Roadies for dinner many times and it's always been great, the only difference this evening was our waiter/server/host Tony. He was awesome, helped with recommendations when ordering, he was kind, efficient, attentive and just a great positive attitude. He was definitely worth 5 stars.. I only gave 4 stars due to the drinks only being served in plastic cups, gat some glass mugs and you get the 5. Thanks again Tony!
Just came back from Roadhouse Tucson. The theater is comfortable and atmosphere is great! But the food is terrible. This is one of many visits, and it was the worst, My daughter and I decided to split the Patty Melt as she hasn’t had one in a long time. There is NO WAY this sandwich can be called a patty melt! It was two slices of sourdough bread toasted, a dry burger patty which didn’t fit the bread, and a couple tablespoons of diced onions like McDonalds uses. I think there was a small piece of cheese you couldn’t taste! Oh, but it did have aioli! And this piece of nothing was $17! I would not even complain about the price if the sandwich was edible. From now on I think we’ll just stick to popcorn and go to dinner afterwards.
I love this place and so today I went with my friend who is in a wheelchair and from her perspective, she rated a 6.5 out of a 10. The first thing we noticed was there’s no push button for the front door. This guy walked in right before us and saw her in a wheelchair and just kept going so I had to try to hold open two doors to let her in but this nice employee came and helped us with the door. We got our tickets and went to theater five and she was kind of frustrated because it was hard for her chair to fit under the table. This being her second time she previously went to theater one and they had a movable table that worked really well. She had to modify a couple of things with the arms up to get under this table. I feel like the waiter noticed that we were struggling and mentioned if we needed a refund which I thought was great. She didn’t think the waiter did all the things on this checklist but felt ok. After the movie we went and checked out the rest of the building. The bathrooms were tight to get into but could provide the service it needs for a person in a wheelchair or a walker. In the bar area, she found a table that had a diagonal cut at the end, which made it easier for her to pull her chair up to, but I’m not sure that was designed for a wheelchair, but it worked. We then went over to Roadies and I noticed a few things. The beautiful designed furniture in the middle of the building was wide enough to get a wheelchair through and enough space to hang out if you wanted to just have a conversation there. I’m sure there might be an adaptive way to Bowl, but I didn’t notice there was a ramp and thought that was great. We didn’t test out any of the arcade games or the ax throwing but we did come across a really great band playing. Overall it was a fun night.
This was my very first time visiting Roadhouse Cinemas in Tucson, and unfortunately, my first impression was one of the worst I’ve ever had at any business. I came here on my day off ready to relax, enjoy some good food and drinks, and take in the movie-going experience that this theater advertises. I was genuinely looking forward to it, but instead, I was met with behavior so unprofessional, rude, and unacceptable that it completely ruined the evening. The employee in question, Lydia (last name begins with S), was not only dismissive but also disrespectful from the very beginning. When we approached her to order tickets, food, and drinks, she acted as though she couldn’t understand us, pretending she didn’t hear what we were saying, and making no effort to provide the customer service that should be standard at a theater-restaurant establishment like this. Instead of welcoming us and helping us, she treated us like we were an inconvenience to her. What made the situation worse was when we asked about ordering food before the movie. We had a full hour before our showtime, and plenty of time to sit and enjoy a meal before heading into the theater. Rather than assisting us, Lydia flatly told us to “just wait and order inside” because she was “too busy” to take our order. For someone working the front of house and representing the business, this is unacceptable. If she was overwhelmed or needed support, she could have called for help from another staff member — not dismiss paying customers who are here to spend their hard-earned money. First impressions matter. This was my very first visit to Roadhouse Cinemas, and Lydia’s unprofessionalism left me feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and disappointed. I had expected this to be a fun, relaxing outing, but instead I left with the feeling that my presence wasn’t valued. If this is how new guests are treated, it raises serious concerns about management and the standards being upheld at this location. I strongly urge Roadhouse Cinemas to review this situation and hold employees accountable for how they treat guests. Customers do not just pay for the movie — they pay for the experience, and it only takes one bad interaction to ruin it. This was my first time here, and instead of leaving with excitement to come back, I’m leaving with the exact opposite impression. Management, please take note: employees like Lydia damage the reputation of your business. Guests deserve to feel respected, welcomed, and appreciated — not dismissed and disrespected.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to see Freakier Friday recently. The seats are wide, comfortable, and recline well. The screens are huge. I don't recommend sitting too close to the screen as it did warp the view a little and gave me a headache at first. But maybe that is just me. We tried their road trip for 2 sampler and it was a good choice. The soft pretzel was large, soft, hot, and salty served with a delicious and mildly spicy cheese sauce. The chicken strips were well Breaded and tasted fresh. The seasoned fries were fresh fresh and hot but did lack the promised seasoning in my opinion. The keg root beer was yummy if youre a true root beer fan. The Mac & chz bites were much better than cheesecake factory in my opinion. And the servers were attentive and friendly. I do recommend arriving early if youre going to order food, we did this and were able to have our food by the time the movie started while others were just ordering. The private screening rooms sound like a good idea for private groups or if you dont like big crowds at a theatre but otherwise seem to be basically the same experience from what I read on their site. We visited the arcade and there did seem to be a nice variety of games though we did notice a couple were out of order. We didnt visit the bar but it looked packed. All in all we would definitely return.
