Sanraku never disappoints. Great food as always! The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented — the nigiri melted in my mouth, and the rolls were perfectly balanced. The eel bowl was rich and flavorful, and the tempura shrimp were light, crispy, and not greasy at all. We also enjoyed the clam soup, which was comforting and full of umami. Consistent quality, excellent flavors, and a reliable spot whenever we’re craving good Japanese food in San Jose. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

BEST sushi in South Bay! I always recommend Sanraku to friends and family and I’ve been coming here for the last 5+ years. I adore the food quality, service, and menu. The omakase is a birthday regular in my family and I just celebrated another one yesterday! Thank you for reliable and delicious japanese food!

What are these high ratings?!?! Authentic Japanese cuisine?? The other reviews make me want to cry… The epitome of mall sushi. Everyone was eating some kinda lunch bento instead, I think. The sushi we got was largely overpriced and really bad. Ruined my whole day how much I paid for considering the fish being absolutely flavourless and dry. The agedashi tofu wasn’t too bad (wouldn’t order again though). Charged wrong amount that we caught (was over 20 bucks) because they didn’t serve one of the sushi and we were never informed of either mistake. Many flies constantly buzzing around in your face. Meh service. Table wasn’t clean, floor wasn’t clean. Was overall a yuck experience. Why would anyone ever go to this restaurant for sushi…? It makes me angry just thinking about the food again. 😥

So far, this restaurant is the best choice when one feels like authentic Japanese cuisines! Very friendly & respectful services and the food is just divine. Best to sit at the bar. Chef Naoki’s just amazing. We’ll always come back here for Japanese.

Highly recommend Sanraku! The Volcano, California, Philly, and Dynamite rolls were all excellent - fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. Miso soup was a great start to the meal. The hosts were warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’d suggest making a reservation if you want to sit indoors - it gets busy quickly. Solid sushi spot in Westfield Oakridge!
