Went in for a scheduled eye exam and had a terrible experience. I was stuck waiting for almost over two hours just to just called in the back and be told that I couldn’t get my exam done because I came in wearing contacts for a CONTACT EYE EXAM. I was told they didn’t have anything to store my contacts during my exam so I would have to throw them out if I wanted my exam done. I don’t understand how they expect me to throw out my contacts and drive home blind afterwards absolutely ridiculous
This is my first time trying out Stanton optical. I came to this location as it is convenient for it. Got there at 1125. It is located in a shopping center, so there is a lot of parking. I walked in and was greeted by DJ. I informed him I had an eye exam and he said to go to the left side and wait. My appointment was for 1130 but I wasn't helped until around 1150. The woman seemed a bit uncertain while doing my exam. During that exam and after it, the woman asked for my glasses a couple of times. While I was waiting, I asked her if she could clean them as they got dirty from her getting them a few times. And she said they could do it at the counter. I thought she would clean them since she's the one that got them dirty but oh well. I get up look at all the glasses, then as the person working at the counter how much longer for the eye exam results. He said that was just my pre exam. He then left and went to the optometrist and said it would be a bit longer. After another 15 minutes I was finally passed into the eye exam. After that, I looked at the all glasses again and then was held by DJ. From the time that I walked in to getting my eye exam results it was at 1250. I'm not sure why I made an appointment if they just treated me as a walk-in. I decided to just pay the co-pay for my eye exam and decided to get my glasses somewhere else.
I came in for a simple adjustment on my glasses after a recent purchase and the visit was disappointing. The woman in the scrubs looked irritated the moment I asked for help and never seemed fully focused. She kept trying to adjust the glasses but could not get them right, and I finally told her they were fine because it felt uncomfortable watching her struggle. The attitude was surprising considering the role is known for entry level pay, yet she acted like she was operating on a different level. Another customer happened to be there at the same time and saw the whole interaction. He was wearing Ray Ban Meta Smart glasses and told me he recorded everything. He even offered to share the video if I needed it and we exchanged numbers. She ended the visit with just come back if you need anything else again but the tone made it clear she did not want to help from the start. The entire situation felt unnecessary and the scrubs only drew more attention to it.
Went in for simple eye exam and refraction. Did first half of exam with standard machine and a "technician" that was very unsure of herself. With that finished I was informed that the refraction would be done via remote video.....what? Ok let's try. Some lady who said she was in Florida explained she would remotely manipulate the optical refractometer. I could barely understand her English. End result was inclusive.....really...come on. They wanted me to come back when they actually had a real doctor on site and offered to schedule. apparently Stanton has one real optometrist in the Sacramento area that rotates through one day a week. I let them know my schedule was pretty full and left with a "don't call me, I'll call you." I should have read their yelp reviews first and not listened to their over produced TV ads. I can see why they need to be heavy on advertisement. Good part--> cost nothing but my time. Read review: programed, canned, precomposed, auto response...
Air conditioned Huge plus is they have a bathroom!! Not the nicest neighborhood but definitely not the worst. And the whole reason for doing this review before Google has a chance to ask, is to Give am honorable mention to the employee (DJ) that saw me waiting ,helped me without hesitation, demonstrated all the good stuff it takes to be in the customer service field.. Someone give that man a raise!
