The climbing walls are good and the problems get changed frequently, and there is enough variety of grades. The facilities are sub-par: in winter the place is utterly freezing; the lockers are tiny and many are broken; the (male) changing room/area is small and awkwardly designed (despite recently refurbished). There is a good cafe`/chill-out area.

First little visit with 2 small children. Super clean and friendly. Loads of really nice routes for kids. Very chilled vibes.

Likes: Lots of different wall types and gradients. Lots of comp type climbs using large sloping holds, which I haven’t seen that much in other gyms. Has a gym. Staff friendly. Good place to store your things while you climb, in the climbing area. Spacious changing rooms. Nice area with walls just for kids. Nice looking cafe and the food looked good. Near public transport. Dislikes: Every hold in the gym is dirty, completely covered in chalk or rubber. Some holds so covered in rubber that the rubber comes off onto your hands. There seemed not to be many climbs for beginners, my sister and I have been climbing for 2yrs, and found that we could hardly send anything aside from jug ladders. The gym is not super well lit, as there is no natural lighting from inside so for us it felt a bit dark. There is not much space on the mats, even with 50-60 people in the gym we felt very crowded, the gym is not that big. I would say, if you are a climber that can’t climb V3s or V4s consistently there will not be much you can send in this gym.

Great bouldering climbing centre. Helpful and friendly staff. Lots of route options for all levels. Availability to hire shoes. Options for classes and coaching. Everyone is very friendly and even when attending alone it feels such a welcoming place! Recommend!!!

The Climbing Academy is an excellent bouldering gym! Spent about 2 hours here on the wide variety of climbs, which were suitable for all skill levels. The place was very clean and the staff were kind. There are lots of locker spaces available to put your shoes and belongings as well as a space to train. I didn't bring any, but they also have a huge climbing space for younger kids! Great experience.
