I usually just read reviews to have a giggle, but I saw one and felt the need to write my own experience and set the record straight! This place is fantastic as are the people who work here. I don't understand how someone could walk into a store a minute before closing and think thats ok especially during this season. Why go to Elk Grove from midtown when Arden is closer? Mean spirited slander is not ok. I don't know the gentleman in the white, but the one in the vest is always there and has been nothing but wonderful! Not even close to racist in any interaction. I've dealt with plenty so I know! And I know I've heard the one in the vest speak Spanish! These people have some of the hardest jobs, especially during this time and deserve respect! Retail and fast food workers have it so hard with so many terrible people 😔 I hope they read this, but I understand if they don't because I sure wouldn't if I worked there! You are all appreciated for your amazing service and may everyone at this store have a blessed holiday season 🙏 Attached is my current favorite tequila. Thank you, Chris for the recommendation!
I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at Total Wine & More. I was treated with clear racial discrimination and open hostility, especially by a Black American female cashier at register #5, whose behavior was shockingly rude and aggressive. I came in to buy one bottle of Passion Fruit Syrup, which is clearly labeled non-alcoholic. Despite this, the cashier treated us with extreme suspicion, stared at us as if we were criminals, and deliberately made the checkout process difficult. She refused to let us pay without an ID for a non-alcoholic product, which made absolutely no sense and felt like intentional targeting rather than store policy. Her attitude was not just unprofessional — it was demeaning and accusatory. She acted as if we were lying or doing something illegal. When my girlfriend went back to the car to get her ID and returned alone, the cashier continued her hostile behavior and even called her a “liar,” which was completely unacceptable and deeply humiliating. As Asian customers, we felt clearly singled out and racially profiled. The way we were spoken to and treated showed a complete lack of respect and basic decency. This was not a misunderstanding — it was blatant discrimination. I will never return to this store. Total Wine & More needs to seriously address this behavior and retrain employees on how to treat customers with respect and equality. If you don’t want to be disrespected or racially profiled, do not shop at this location.
i just stop by to buy a syrup w my friends, we go separately car and the lady cashier ask us for ID so i understand go to my car get my ID even we not buying acohol. But then when i go back to the store my friend need to go to target so i buy the syrup by myself. And another cashier ask where is my friend id? i was like he gone, and the lady come and said “she lie, cuz i check her out earlier” ?? and they dont let me check out because my friend was GONE? isnt it kind of racist? very bad service DONT COME IF YOU DONT WANNA BE TREATED LIKE HOMELESS
I shop here often! Would only give one star but! Giiving it 2 stars. I have had good experiences with a particular associate by the name of Tom and do love the selections! However! I noticed on this whiskey I.D.E IRISH that l always purchase was expired at home, red flag to me, due to the fact that l purchase this I.D.E Irish whiskey at least once a month, is the store selling this expired? I made a trip to the store today for repurchase of my I.D.E whiskey and l checked the expiration and sure enough every bottle l picked up is expired! Not 6 months ago but found some 1.5 years ago! I know some alcohol has no expiration, but if the manufacturer places a expiration on the bottle it's for a reason. I took the bottle up front to let them know about it! I told the associate the bottle has expired over a year ago, he didn't ever bother to look at the bottle and proceed to tell me whiskey doesn't expire? l said, but it has an expiration on it! He had nothing to say, l was thinking they were unaware, we'll they are VERY AWARE of selling alcohol expired! WOW! If your not going to look at the bottle! With that being said, l feel its a public safety issue and filed a complaint against the company and there practices and irresponsibility to us consumers.
They had some gems this last time I wandered in. I was asked if I needed help 2-3 times. It’s always awesome when someone is actually wanting to help you these days! The store was super clean.
