I am very disappointed in this company’s customer service and professionalism. A few months ago, I asked that my service day be changed from Monday because their technicians kept parking in front of my trash and recycling bins. Instead of a helpful response, I received a rude and dismissive email from Steve, who said they couldn’t guarantee a specific day. When I spoke with Ben, the owner, he was apologetic and professional and assured me they would accommodate the change. Steve later apologized by email, promising they would avoid Mondays and not block the bins, so I thought the issue was resolved. Shortly after that exchange, I noticed a sudden decline in the quality of my lawn service, which seemed coincidental given the timing. The owner personally came out to treat the lawn, which I appreciated, but it never fully recovered. I let it go since fall was approaching. Then, today—again on a Monday—the technician parked in front of my bins while the garbage truck was nearby. I asked him to move so they could be accessed. When I called the company, I was transferred to a rude representative who turned out to be Steve again. When I reminded him of our previous interaction, he defensively said, “I sent you an email,” and repeated that they can’t guarantee a service day. When I told him I’d need to cancel my service, he sarcastically said, “Excellent,” falsely accused me of cursing at the technician (which I absolutely did not), and then abruptly hung up on me. I later spoke with Bill, the owner, who was once again polite and professional and apologized for Steve’s conduct. However, the pattern of unprofessional behavior continues to be tolerated. To make matters worse, I then received another email from Steve stating, “Per your request, I have canceled all services as of today. You have a zero balance on the account. I understand you have already spoken to the president of our company.” While the wording may appear polite, it was inappropriate for Steve—the same employee at the center of the issue—to contact me again. His tone came across as dismissive and condescending, as if to imply that speaking to the president hadn’t made any difference. Not to mention the only reason I contacted the president was because Steve accused me of something I did not do & then hung up on me. I caution others to use their service due to the unprofessional handling of my simple request and the repeated lack of respect shown to a long-time customer.
Tri-S Pest Control, I’ve been a loyal customer of your lawn service for several years, and until recently, I had been satisfied with the care and attention provided. However, I now feel compelled to express my concerns regarding the service I’ve received over the past six months. First, the quality of the lawn treatment has noticeably declined. Despite regular visits, the condition of my lawn has worsened. I’ve had to personally ask the technician to assess specific problem areas — something I believe should be part of the standard service, especially considering we’re paying for professional care and oversight. Additionally, I experienced an issue when my service day was changed to Monday. I simply called to ask if it was possible to switch to another day, and in response, I received an email that I found unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I was surprised by the tone, especially given the courteous relationship I’ve maintained over the years. I had to call and insist on an apology, or I would have considered moving to another company. While Steve did apologize, ever since that incident, the quality of service has only seemed to decline further. At this point, I’m frustrated and disappointed. I expected proactive care and respectful communication from a company I’ve trusted with my home. I would appreciate a clear response outlining what steps will be taken to restore the health of my lawn and improve service going forward. I’ve also attached photos of my lawn, which clearly show a stark contrast between mine and my neighbor’s. It's very concerning, especially given the time and money we’ve invested in regular treatments. For anyone looking at reviews to decide whether to hire your company, unfortunately, based on my recent experience, I would not feel comfortable recommending your services to friends or neighbors at this time. 8/11/25 Update: Ben personally came out & looked at our lawn & is applying a fertilizer to it. He also advised us that it’s being cut too short, which was helpful to know. We appreciate the quick response & hope that our lawn will start to look healthier soon. 11/10/25 Update: I went ahead this morning and canceled my service. I am very disappointed in this company and how they handle their customers. This morning as I was trying to leave for work their lawn service person showed up. He parked right next to my trashcan and I had trash on the curb and the trash truck was down the street. This is after I was told that they would not be doing my lawn service anymore on Monday so that my trash service wouldn’t be skipped. I called & they transferred me to Steve, who is the individual who sent a rude email to me initially for requesting my service be on a different day than Monday. After the initial email I spoke with Ben (owner) who told me my service would be on Wednesdays & Steve apologized. However when I called in today, they transferred me to Steve, who was very rude to me. He started off by saying they could not guarantee which day they would be out there to service my lawn after I was told they would not be out there anymore on Monday. Then he proceeded to tell me that it was excellent that I was canceling my service because they do not need customers that curse at their technicians & hung up on me. I did not curse at the technician. I had to park my car and ask him to move so that the trash truck could get to my trash. I feel it’s unfortunate that this company has a representative such as Steve working for them, who is very unprofessional and rude. It is because of Steve that I am canceling my service both my lawn service and my pest service. My suggestion is if you have any issues that need accommodating look elsewhere do not work with this company.
Jose has been our tech for over 15 years and is responsible for us being loyal customers all these years.
