I have just dropped a tablet off at this location for a repair. I have to say: the guy working there did not inspire confidence. There was a man there before me getting his cell phone charging port replaced and it was to be covered by insurance. The guy working had zero clue and told him he would have to file a claim, etc. The man said he had already done that and they referred him to uBreakiFix. So... lack of reading skills, or what? He also told me they don't usually fix the kind of tablet I have. OK?? Also, he did not reassure either of us that the repairs would be done correctly or in a timely manner. Please, PLEASE train your staff how to serve customers. The experience was just bizarre and unprofessional. I will update this when I get my tablet back. UPDATE! I got my tablet back fixed and they only charged me the diagnostic fee! The gentleman at the counter was far more attentive and cordial than the first guy. He gave the impression of confidence and seemed rather managerial. Please have him train the other staff how to treat customers. I would give this place another visit if I need any kind of tech repairs.
This is my second dealing with UBreakiFix. First time, my surface screen cracked and they had it fixed 48 hours after the part came in. This time, my surface needed a clean up and more memory. These peeps know their stuff and how to help us make the best decision for our pockets! Once the part came in, my Surface was cleaned up and new memory installed w/in 36 hours. I will continue to use these peeps!!
Brought in my ipod touch gen 7 for a charging issue and they did a quick diagnostic to ensure it was the charging dock that was the issue and not the motherboard. Confirmed it was the port and that yes, they could fix it for $75. I gave the ok and they ordered the part. Everything else worked fine on my ipod prior to them working on it. I got notified they got the part in and were ready to fix my ipod so I bring it in. They told me that hey, its going to be 2-3 days as it's the holidays and they were in limited hours or closed a day. I said that's OK. So after 5 days of hearing no updates, I call them. They informed me that the part was replaced but they had other issues with charging and the home button not working. I told them the home button worked fine prior to me bringing it to them. They said it must be a motherboard issue which to me was bs as the home button WORKED FINE before they worked on it. I let them have it for another day before calling and asking for an update which they made me think that the charging issue was still present PLUS now the home button not working. I just asked for my ipod back in semi-working condition. They said fine, we'll only charge you for diagnostic fee of $40. Fine. I pick up my ipod and charging works flawless now but the home button no longer works. Everything else functions. So they possibly damaged my ipod while fixing the charging port or left something disconnected since the home button is in the same vicinity of the charging port.
I got a xbox controller fixed here a few years ago. It is great to experience another great service. I needed my xbox series X cleaned after years of use. Owen helped me save a bunch of time and money by subscribing to their service. Matthew did a great job cleaning my console too. Professional and fast, would recommend.
These guys are joke at this location. They lack customer service skills, don't understand the importance of communication, they don't value their customer's time(was told by Tyler "that time is currency, more on that later), and don't stand by their work. I dropped my laptop off to them on November 25th after stopping in and given an estimate prior. I dropped it off and they gave me a ballpark price of $350-$450. He also mentioned I had to pay $60 non-refundable up front for diagnostics and it went towards the repair. Okay, I paid it and left. 5 hours later I get a text stating the repair will be $374.99 and they would need to order the screen to get the repair going. They went on to mention due to the high cost of the part I needed to pay half of the repair cost up front for them to order the part. While paying that isn't a problem the fact that this wasn't mentioned before and now I had to drive all the way back to their store 20 minutes away. When I called and asked if they could just go ahead and make an exception because This was not told to me at the time when I dropped it off I was told no and there was no care about their failure and their part to mention this to the customer. This was Tyler that I talked to on the phone when I called after receiving the text. So after a very disappointing conversation with Tyler I decided to quickly drive the store risking being late meeting I had with a customer. When I got the store I asked to just pay for what they needed. After so I want to explain to Tyler that they could use some helping the customer service department. I should have been told about the pain half up front for the repair Jason the fact that they gave me a rough estimate of the cost of the repair. I have to waste my time to come back here and it seems like that there is no type of way the reconcile the situation based on that I wasn't given the information and now I'm in a situation where I could delay my repair if I don't come back in there. Tyler's response was "Well time isn't really currency". At that time I almost lost my cool but I decided to just give Tyler a nice lecture about appreciating people's time. We all make more money but can never get time back. I told him I understand his policies and what historic policy is as well. But that doesn't mean he can't be some type of apologetic and try to meet me halfway on a failure on their behalf especially when he said that he tells everyone that and sorry that someone else didn't tell me that. I asked Tyler to have a manager to call me the next day. Well I never received that call the next day and I decided to call and talk to someone who said they're the highest of authority in the store. He wasn't a manager. I explained to him what had happened with the whole situation about the paying up half up front. He apologized, whoever he was and I told him thank you. I picked up my laptop on December 16th. All was fine until today when I opened up my laptop and seeing that it had some screen uniformity issues whenever the screen was black. See the picture attached. I show this anomaly to several people and we all agreed that I need to take this back since I payed for a brand new screen and this is either a quality issue or an installation issue. I proceeded to take it back to the store where I explained the issue and showed them the screen issues. The gentleman in the front acted like he could not see the issues on the screen and whatever it was black. After repeatedly showing him the issue and showing them how it was there using a screen uniformity video to create an black screen. He proceeded to take it to the back and I can hear them discussing it with someone else. Then some other gentleman comes out the back who later states that he was the manager and said that he cannot see the issue and it's a brand new HP screen so there is nothing they can do. I repeatedly showed him the spot to which he denied seeing anything. He told me I have to call customer service and file a complaint. He started helping another gentleman and I did swear at him as I left.
