Big nope for me. Took my kid in there Saturday.. she's clearly sick. High fever. Covered in a rash. Tests were done. One being COVID influenza a and b and strep. When those came back it was followed by a mono test. My daughter tested positive for influenza a according to her chart then it proceeds to talk about being COVID +. Crazy thing is NO ONE in this clinic bothered to tell me. I found it in my daughter's my chart since I'm now sick. I called the prompt care to confirm if my child has influenza a or if it's COVID. The person who answers the phone proceeds to tell me how the nurse practitioner hasn't viewed the results so she can't answer that until they are reviewed by the np and that id get a call back. So you guys tested my kid for all sorts of stuff but she walked out with no diagnosis. It's end of business day the following day. Still no diagnosis. Still no call from the np. Go to broadlawns or something. Anywhere but this scam of a place !
The receptionist I dealt with was a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of the staff. She was perfect! I called ahead to “reserve” a spot and got in right at the time they told me I was going to. That part of my visit was impressive! The nurse that I had was not very friendly. As she kept asking me personal questions about my health she made me feel very incompetent like I didn’t know how to “answer” questions. She didn’t ask very well, leaving me confused about what she needed to know then made it seem like I didn’t know what I was talking about and wasting her time. She then gave me an injection and then the PA came in. The PA was very nice and told me that I needed an injection, I told her I had gotten one and she told me “oh it wasn’t written down.” I was then questioning if the nurse had permission by the Dr. to give me that injection or why it had not been communicated that I was already stuck with a needle once. All of the urgent care clinics around me didn’t have openings, this was my last resort. Next time I will wait until Monday.
Showed up first in line. Took forever to check me in. Saw at least 3 other patients before me that they claimed had reservations (they all showed up after me). I sat there the entire time listening to them ask each person if they had reservations and each said no. They then proceeded to lie to my face when I called them out on it. Doubled down that these people had reservations when I clearly heard them say no. Don’t bother with this place. The people are rude as anything. Edit: There’s no confusion so spare the patronization. NO ONE there had an appointment. All were walk ins. I heard the words come out of their mouths. Don’t call it an urgent care then if you can’t be seen urgently. Can’t really reserve ahead for a dog bite.
The location is convenient, and half the time you'll have a decent experience. Know that it's best to schedule your appointment online rather than walking in, and you can only schedule an appointment for that day. I went in for the same thing (poison ivy, ugh) in July, then again in September, and the two visits were a study in contrasts. Chad Enich was attentive and actually looked at my arm. Kylie Hall barely looked up from the computer screen. And since Kylie Hall is a "specialist", I have to pay $72 more for the pleasure of that experience.
Today I went to Unity Point Urgent Care on Ingersoll Ave. and received first rate medical care. I was in extreme pain which turned out to be cellulitis that was progressing rapidly. I realized I should have gone in a few days earlier to which they responded, "We are glad you are here now." I was treated with such kindness and respect from the two people working at the front dest to the Medical Assistant who took my vitals, to the Nurse Practitioner Stephanie and her student intern. I"m very grateful for the support I received today. I am immensely grateful for their professionalism and expertise.
