A beautiful place of retreat. If you go to walk around grab a map for sure, it'll be easy to get lost, there's maps located at the gates up front, there are I believe 2 gates, an orange gate and a green gate that you can go thru but I'm not 100%, I've only been there once and I'm totally wanting to go back and finish checking this place out. Please don't bother the people that actually utilize and pray here. This is a place to pray and worship with all kinds of races and religions.
Absolutely beautiful! What a perfect place to relax and hike.
A place of mindfulness and calm. A nice spiritual experience, non-judgmental and a kind presence as we meandered through the trails. Please be respectful. I witnessed some vandalism and “sharpie-graffiti” on some of the monuments. I suggest downloading an Alltrails or similar offline map of the area as there are some unmarked / unmapped trails in the area that I will return to explore. Dogs are not allowed. I so wished my dog could have joined me on the experience, but again, respect is important and these folks are very kind to open this retreat area to the public.
A peaceful place to meditate and to take a walk. On the outskirts of Portland, just before Scappoose on Dixie Mountain, there resides a spiritual resort called Vedanta. We thought it would be a walk in a park, but not so! There is a whole trail system, with hills, lots of them, along with views and shrines to every religion. We logged 4+ miles just walking the paths through all the shrines. Good walking shoes should be worn. Donations are accepted for entry. Parking is at the end of a road and can be tight. This is such a peaceful getaway that is beautifully done.
It was so peaceful to walk the grounds here. My friend I literally only saw 3 people the whole time we walked around. We went through the green gate (closed) but apparently it’s always closed. There are so many cool small shrines along the trails and each one is different. My favorite was the native peoples shrine. Peaceful beyond belief and it was wonderful to be surrounded by the spirituality of the grounds. Take a map when you are at the gate in case you need it to get back. Cell reception was ok for me on Verizon but it might be spotty for others. Highly recommend this quiet spot in the woods.

A serene sanctuary for spiritual reflection, meditation, and peaceful hiking in nature.
