Our visit to this store was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had at a store like this. I was not sure if it was just me being overly sensitive, but upon reading other reviews, my suspicions feel vindicated. When my aunt and I walked into the store this past weekend, I wasn’t even sure if we were greeted. It was a bit loud in there, but I did look over and say hello to the employees at the register. As we walked around, we noticed a woman with glasses and what looked like a small purse, staring at us. My aunt pointed it out and made a comment about her constantly watching us. I could not tell if she was an employee or another customer. As I walked around, I noticed she was everywhere we were. I then noticed her locking up a glass cabinet so then I knew she was indeed an employee. Never once asked if we needed any help- just continued to watch. I then chose an album, and almost immediately as I began to look around some more, a man rushed up to me and asked if he could take it to the counter. Which is fine when it’s presented as a courtesy, but it felt more like a prevention of theft. I do understand that stores nowadays have to be vigilant and take measures to prevent theft. My gripe with this though, is that they did not seem to be watching anyone else, it almost as though we were profiled for some reason. Maybe we weren’t dressed fancy enough? You would think that after receiving other negative reviews for the very same thing we experienced, they would get it, but obviously not. Unfortunately for them, I did have quite a bit of money to spend here (imagine that!) and I chose not to. I did purchase the album, though I wish I hadn’t given them a dime. As I checked out, they became super friendly all of a sudden. I’m sure I’m going to get a snarky reply to this, because that seems to be the owner’s MO with his replies to some of the less than stellar reviews. I have seen from a few other reviews that others have had far more palatable experiences there, but ours was FAR from that. Most definitely won’t ever be back and will absolutely not recommend this establishment to anyone.
