10/10 — Highly recommend. Tips: wear layers; bring a water bottle (but don’t overdo it—the bathroom situation is very rustic, which adds to the adventure); bring cash to tip the crew—they work incredibly hard to make the experience seamless; wear sunscreen and sun-protective clothing; and absolutely bring your camera. I flew on 12/30/25 with Chris as our pilot—bonus: it was his birthday. This flight was a birthday gift to myself, as my own birthday was the day before, and it could not have been a more meaningful way to celebrate. The morning began with the quiet efficiency of balloon assembly—quick, professional, and almost ceremonial. As the envelope came to life, I met people from all over, strangers instantly connected by the shared anticipation of something rare and beautiful. As we lifted off, the sun gently caressed the valley, casting a warm, golden light across the landscape below. We flew peacefully toward the Rio Grande, where waterfowl played along the riverbanks. At one point, we spotted a Sand Crane—an unexpected and unforgettable moment. The ride was remarkably gentle, the kind of stillness that makes you acutely aware of the present moment. As we climbed higher, the vastness of the Southwest revealed itself—layered terrain, sweeping horizons, and a sense of scale that humbles you in the best way. Murray, the owner of the company, was with us for the entire flight. A lifelong resident of the area, he pointed out geological landmarks below, adding depth and history to an already incredible experience. Albuquerque’s ballooning culture was on full display, with roughly 15 other balloons flying in the area. Listening to the radio chatter between pilots was both fascinating and reassuring—a quiet choreography unfolding above the valley. Chris skillfully guided us to a smooth landing in a middle school yard, where the crew efficiently packed everything up. The post-flight celebration and ballooning history lesson were the perfect closing chapter to an unforgettable morning. As a bonus they photograph the experience for you, all you need to do is head to their Facebook page and grab the photos for FREE! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. 10/10.
This was my second flight with World Balloon and Tamie as our pilot. She is a fabulous pilot and second to none with her skill, knowledge and safety. The whole team at World Balloon is amazing. The flight pattern was perfect to capture the Rio Grande River, Fall colors and fantastic view of Albuquerque from above. We only recommend World Balloons for our guests as they always provide an excellent experience. Thank you Tamie and your entire team.

Would have given 10 stars if they offered … our ride was a dream. First timer and it was a wonderful experience. Our pilot, Chris, was funny and friendly. And, if anyone has trepidations about getting in/out of the basket (I did), they help every step of the way. Being aloft is like floating and watching other balloons around you makes for great pictures. Go ahead and take the ride! .
I had the most exhilarating experience with my first hot air balloon ride. Murry, Tammy and their whole crew took such good care of us. Safety is clearly a priority to them and because of that and their years of experience we got to experience a breathtaking journey. I’ll never forget it and I will be talking about it for the rest of my life.
