Dewanda was absolutely amazing at City Winery! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure our entire experience was perfect from start to finish. Her positive energy and professionalism truly stood out. She made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. If you’re dining here, ask for Dewanda you won’t be disappointed! We had an incredible experience at City Winery thanks to our server, Dewanda. She was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly attentive without being overbearing. She made great recommendations and ensured everything was perfect throughout the night. Exceptional service like hers makes you want to come back again!
I'm going to have to separate my thoughts on the show from those of the venue. The show (Cold & Edison) was amazing, easily in my top ten. For the venue, it looked nice, sound quality was surprisingly good, and the staff was friendly. A drawback is that the seating arrangement sucks but they have to do it the way they do to maximize audience volume. The pricing is straight piracy. Didn't catch this when I bought the ticket (wouldn't have mattered), but each person has a $25 minimum, so for 2 people, $50 minimum. The food was alright and very overpriced ($14 for a plate of regular fries?). Here is the breakdown: the venue food/drinks are overpriced but it is still a very nice, intimate venue which I will probably go to again (but I'll be eating before hand).
City Winery at the City Foundry in St. Louis is a fully functioning winery that also serves as a live music venue and upscale restaurant. Seen a David Sandborn Tribute band it was phenomenal. The Winery offers a unique combination of culinary and cultural experiences, with a menu designed to pair with its award-winning wines, a wide selection of which are fermented on-site from grapes sourced globally. In addition to dining and wine tasting, the venue hosts intimate concerts and live performances, making it a popular destination for urban wine enthusiasts and music lovers.
If you know me as a reviewer, you know, I don’t give low reviews very easily. Went here for the first time for a Stanley Clark concert. We were really excited about being able to see him and his band. Unfortunately the experience at City Winery was not anywhere close to what we’d hoped. The concert we saw was one of the best I’ve seen in my life and nearly ruined by the completely incompetent service and bad listening atmosphere. The waitress for our table forgot what kind of wine we ordered on 2 separate occasions asking us if we ordered a different kind twice for us to correct her. Then when the wine was brought to our table by a different runner they asked if we got a different kind and we had to again correct them on what we ordered. After 40+ minutes our wine arrived, without glasses. We asked the waitress for glasses and before being able to tell her we needed 3 she turned around to get them and 5+ minutes later returned with just 2. We told her we needed another one, and she disappeared to not return with the glass. We had to flag down another worker to get our 3rd wine glass for the group—keep in mind this is all in the middle of the concert that we were there to see. Then our food arrives, a simple charcuterie board. However they forgot the CHEESE for the MEAT AND CHEESE charcuterie board that we ordered 45 minutes previous. And note, when you’re here for a concert, it’s a $25 minimum per person so you can’t avoid the service!!!! After all of this, the table directly to our side needed to have a full 5 minute conversation with the waitress because she couldn’t find the correct check for them—all while the concert we paid to see was still going on. Overall, would not recommend. If your favorite band or musician is coming to town here, just watch some YouTube videos of them at home and enjoy a drink in front of your TV or Computer instead of wasting your time here.
The service was great! All of the staff members were friendly and we had a great time. The entertainer was amazing, covering many ranges of songs. Truly talented!!! The food was a let down. With the exception of the waffles, it was extremely bland and left nothing to be desired. Attending the Father’s Day Brunch and paying $60 a person for terrible food was a no go.
