1st the good: equipment choice here is stellar. In the last year they’ve added loads of new, high-quality equipment. Tons of dumbbells, ranging well past weights I am ways away from using. They also offer group fitness classes, hydro massage (these are dope), and tanning beds (these I’ve heard mixed reviews about). Overall the gym looks cool, feels fun, and has everything you need with some extras. Now for the bad: There are simply too many people at this gym at a given time. Even in the wee hours of the morning you will end up waiting for a squat rack, a machine, anything. The parking lot is a nightmare. Based solely on the parking lot experience, I believe this to be the busiest shopping center in all of st. pete. (on the bright side you can get some extra steps on your way in and out) maybe 2 out of 10 people who work there will ever actually say hello or greet you (unless they know you or are selling you personal training). I always say hello and it’s kind of a bummer to be ignored most of the time. At the beginning, they will try to sign you up for personal training. I might’ve gone for it too! However, the person I spoke with wasn’t actually listening to me. They were just spouting off generic lines from a script. Big turn off for me. To sum up: this is both the coolest and worst Crunch I’ve been to. Tyrone, Seminole, and Countryside are all smaller, but actually usable most of the time. 5 stars for equipment choice/quality 2 stars for overcrowding/parking/salesy vibes from personal trainers. 3.5-4 overall. Oh - I’d invest in noise canceling headphones. The music is so loud in here, I can hear it through normal airpods. Not fun! Recommendations: build a parking garage. limit the number of guests at a time (or build another crunch nearby to help offset the number of people at this location). Also, please get another hack squat machine. But keep looking and feeling cool. And turn down the music slightly please.
Absolutely love crunch, I’ve been going a while and can confidently say I not only love the equipment but the atmosphere as well. Gio has made the space feel super safe and welcoming every time I come in. 100% recommend going in, especially later in the day!
If I could I’d do 4.5 but the gym is awesome lots of equipment. I wish it was 24 hrs on weekends however. Anyways love it! Has gotten less crowded ever since they launched the Tyrone location
Nick Mariotti is an excellent trainer. When I started working in healthcare, I realized I needed to be physically stronger to safely care for my patients. Nick helped me build real strength using proper form, patience, and encouragement. Over time, I not only felt stronger physically, but my mental health improved significantly as well. He creates a supportive, motivating environment and truly cares about long-term progress. I’m very grateful for his guidance and highly recommend him.
I'm giving the club one star because of the customer service at the front desk. My girlfriend and I came in to check out the club. We recently moved to downtown St. Pete and live about 5 minutes away I went online and got a guest pass for both of us and the girl at the front desk who she was the manager. Tried to charge us $15 each saying that we've been members over 2 years ago at the Crunch in Seminole which is 30 plus minutes away and we could not use a guest pass. It's a completely different area we simply wanted to see how busy and the cleanliness of the club that's why we went during there prime time. There was a 95% chance we were going to sign up that day because it's very convenient and the one in Seminole. The people are very nice. It's a great gym. I would recommend that one the but it all worked out because we signed up at anytime fitness. Would not recommend going to this gym. It feels like they already have enough members and they really don't care about having new members in their gym Very rude people
