I’ve been a long-time customer of KC Engineering and have always brought my motorcycle wheels here for tire mounting and balancing. I like supporting local businesses, and up until now my experiences here have generally been positive with solid work and professional staff. Recently, I brought in a single 14 x 2.5 wheel just to purchase and install an inner tube. While standing at the counter and watching the invoice being written up, I was honestly shocked to see the total come out to over $80. At that point, I had already brought the wheel in and decided to move forward. In my opinion, that price feels excessive for an inner tube install and balance—especially considering the small wheel size and the fact that the work was completed in under 30 minutes. I fully understand that labor costs in San Francisco aren’t cheap, and I don’t expect bargain pricing, but this felt disproportionately high for the scope of work performed. I’m sharing this as constructive feedback. KC Engineering has been my go-to shop for a long time, and I hope this helps set clearer pricing expectations for future customers.
Brought my bike in to get new tires, walked out with something else broken and the job that they did was bad. My rear tire doesn't feel balanced. Something is off about it. I had to take my bike somewhere else to fix what they claim they didn't touch. I can't even take my bike back to them because I fear they will mess with something else. Riding is about trust in my book, my life is on the line out there. I was desperate and came here cause my usual spots didn't have my tires, it would have been a couple of days wait, I should have waited. Lesson learned. Don't make my mistake. Worst mechanics.
I needed to extract my drain plug bolt, I didn't have a lift to get enough elbow room, called and they got me in and finished right away. Great service, great work, great reputation is well deserved. Thank you K C
KC Engineering saved my bacon! I am from Edmonton Alberta Canada. I was on my first motorcycle trip a couple weeks ago when my clutch cable snapped as I was crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. In my calling around to find a new one the wonderful staff at KC also called around trying to help me find one. When nobody in the San Fran area had one KC had one that was close enough to work. Not only did they go above and beyond in helping me, the clutch cable I got is still on my bike and works great!!! Highly highly recommend checking these guys out. I am one grateful Canadian. I made it home without further incident.
