I started pilates after my physiotherapist recommended it to me. I tried a group class but found it slightly intimidating as I didn’t know what to do on the reformer and didn’t feel I could ask questions. I signed up with Marilyn for 1:1 training and have found it very beneficial. My body feels stronger and my mobility has increased as a result. I struggled with hip tightness, back pain and general stiffness from years of office work and really thought this was just part of aging. Working with Marilyn has given me confidence in my mobility and that has helped me change my mindset in my physical goals as well. Pilates is the first workout I’ve found that is easy to stick with as it’s a mind and body workout- movements are small but they are effective and meaningful as your brain and body train in sync. Training with Marilyn is something I look forward to and her hands on approach is one I recommend to anyone who is looking to start their fitness journey, heal from an injury or benefit from increased mobility and mental health.

I came to Marilyn at Taylor Made Pilates 3 years after undergoing brain surgery that compromised my left leg. I had regained my ability to walk through physio and much personal training but my progress stalled and I feared I might never get steady down steps again or walk any distance. I needed something better. A friend encouraged me to contact Marilyn. I was skeptical. I mean Pilates, really? Once a week I started, and soon realized Marilyn was extremely competent, knowledgeable and pleasant. She worked to strengthen my leg and improve the mechanics and movements by incorporating facia release techniques. We vastly improved my brain to leg communications. Over the year I have greatly improved my balance and walking and leg strength. I have more confidence in everything I do now now! Thanks Marilyn !
After several months of physiotherapy for an old knee injury that wasn’t getting any better I decided to book some pilates classes. Marilyn took the time to listen and assess all of my injuries over the past 40+ years and then explained through each pilates movement what we were working on and how it would improve my posture and strength. After 9 months of classes (2 x week) I have a stronger core, greater range of mobility, improved posture, plus increased strength and coordination to do all of the sports I love. Marilyn makes every class challenging, inspiring and fun!
