Hosted my work team-building party at 1611 FW location off of I-20. It was fun for every team member with golf experience from none to scratch golfer. The appetizer trays were good with header flavors. The hostess kept our drinks full and were very attentive to my team. Some folks enjoyed playing exclusive courses like Pebble Beach and the infamous St. Andrews Old Course while others enjoyed the games (chipping at targets & Candy Crush) - All skill levels had fun.
Today was the first time my friend and I decided on 1611. We are avid golfers and wanted to experience hitting simulation. The experience as a whole should have been better. Let's start with the person at the front desk. She was very polite and respectful. Her first question was, of course, "Have you been here before?" We had not and she proceeded to explain the basics about how to navigate the simulator around choosing a course or just hitting the ball for stats. That's where I think more explanation was needed. Some might tho l the questions we needed answers to were common knowledge, but we didn't know to ask certain questions....like how to aim or how to chose clubs. All of this takes time to learn and being our first time, this cut into the time we allowed to play. She did explain that harder courses would take longer to play, so we chose a course that said was easier and chose the white tees to shorten the course and it still took us 2 hours to play 18, $130. I later learned that for $175 I could buy a membership and play 90min mon thru fri for a hole month. That would have been nice to know. Part 2 of the experience was the sim play. I assume for the research I've done in wanting my own simulator, that simulators show your game and there are stats to help you get better by using those stats. However, the trackman simulator at 1611 couldn't be more wrong. I know my game. There were times I would hit my driver of the deck and it said the ball only went 135y and this happened consistently. I could understand if if we're a one time thing, but for the entire time? I normally shoot in the high 70s to mid 80s. Today I was well over that and no we didn't play Bethpage black. It made the experience frustrating, instead of a good time hanging out with a friend playing golf. May be think about giving a small discount to first timers, knowing there will be some growing pains the first time. Who knows, I might have spent more time in the booth knowing my first time was half off.
What a fabulous experience. The staff are so friendly. Food is great. Full bar with ALL the drinks - adult and non-adult varieties. The technology with Trackman is superb. The hitting environment works for a serious golfer to work at the range or play one of hundreds of courses. Or bring a group.
I would give this place 100 stars if I could! We hosted my husband's 30th birthday here and it was nothing short of amazing. The event director, Sunshine, was so communicative and made everything so easy to plan. The day of, we arrived and were met with so much enthusiasm and the staff quickly began to help us set up for the party and attended to every need we had. The food was incredible. We basically had one of everything on the menu and every single food item was delicious. The staff was incredibly attentive and our guests never ran out of a drink without someone asking if they would like a refill. From beginning to end, this party was seamless thanks to the amazing people at 1611 Golf Club. We will certainly be back!!
This is a super cool place. They have 8 bays that you can book. It’s $60 an hour or they have membership plans as well. They use Trackman Simulators. Awesome when it’s hot or cold outside. The food was delicious too. Hot and fresh. The service was great. Alice explained to us how the system works and all features to play. Abby was our server and was very attentive to us and always kept our drinks full. They have a putting area and a seating lounge are as well. The restrooms were clean. We will be back and we will consider the membership.
