True definition of a gym. I had a great experience at Brickhouse — I tried it for the first time through the LFT program with coaches Janelle and Anna, and it pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best way. I got to use machines I’d never tried before, the atmosphere is motivating, and the art and overall vibe are unreal. Strong community, great coaching, and a space that makes you want to work hard.
Different equipment than the other location I frequent. I'm short so the speed bag is a bit too tall, but it's a super solid gym I plan on making use of. Oh for the record I'm not associated with any gangs. I love everyone equally, respect everyone, respect strength a little more, and reciprocate respect. Strength comes in many forms.
I had a terrible experience at this gym and as I’m finding out, this is not an uncommon occurrence. The owner made me feel very uncomfortable. The gym is dirty and as I understand, is only cleaned once a year. Equipment is rarely put away, making it hard to find what you need. There is an “in group” culture here and I was not in it and was made to feel very unwelcome. And my next step is to file a complaint with the provincial consumer protection bureau due to my experience.
This is a really cool, well stocked gym, with everything you need and more. I was only in Winnipeg for a week, and I regret not being able to stop by sooner in my trip. The lady at the front desk was very helpful getting me set up during my drop-in and then afterwards with the app, too. Which enabled me to stop in the next morning, as well. If you want a true gym and access 24/7, this is the place for you
Brickouse is in my opinion the true definition of how a gym should be. It has pretty much every equipment you need whatever you are into fitness, crossfit or strongman training. Place is kept clean (for a gym), schedule is well organized,staff are competent and friendly. Yes some weights and machine maybe are on the old side but 100% functional and thats what really matters. I highly recommend this place if you dont mind weight drop noises and some slight grunting, parts of the gym life. Hands down to the owner. See you maybe there, no pain no gain.
