I understand that shops can get busy, but I wish I had been told upfront that my device couldn’t be worked on that day. I was told it would be ready by the end of the day. However, when I called a few hours later to check on the status, I found out that no work had been done. I then had to make another trip to pick up my device so it wouldn’t be left there over the weekend. Better communication would really help customers plan their time.

I’m 77 years old and rather IT literate, I think, for my age group. I recently acquired fiber internet service, nixing Spectrum cable. Time is precious. My Dell PC was purchased in 2016 and began to be more and more sluggish with fiber. Spotify alone was taking minutes (3-5) to display, sometimes not without relaunching. In my thinking, with all the A.I. subsidies across cyberspace, my PC had simply become obsolete. An upgrade was due. I ordered a new basic Dell PC for about $850.00. Once again, time is precious and I wanted to eliminate the learning curve by migrating all my data and reinstalling all my apps myself on the new unit. I also needed in-home service due to my impaired ambulation and my concern for data security. I searched the web for in-home services. Very few. I communicated my needs to a fellow in Hillsborough via email who appeared to offer what I needed. About two weeks later he emailed me back. By that time, I had already engaged Tim at Komputerzone, a.k.a. Bull City Mobile Repair. After examining my older PC, Tim stated that I didn’t need a new PC at all. All I really needed was a solid-state hard drive instead of the obsolete disk-drive I was depending on. The other components of my old computer were all up to snuff. He informed me, in fact, that the disk drive I was using could crash at any moment. I’m writing a book. Not a comforting thought. Tim made sense, installed the new SS drive, smoothly migrated all my data and reinstalled all my apps with me onlooking. Fortunately, his work occurred within the return policy window at Dell too. I shipped back the new unit and was issued a full refund. My upgraded old PC now works like a charm and performs how I expected it to with fiber. Spotify now opens in SECONDS, along with other sites. Tim’s expertise saved me literally hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I hope I outlive this computer upgrade, but who knows? Whatever IT issues that may arise, I will definitely be calling on Tim and his team once more. Can’t crow about him enough. REPAIR, DON’T REPLACE!

Had to bring in my phone due to a screen issue, and even though I came in at 5pm and they were down on staff they still managed to get my repair completed the same day. Michael was working and was incredibly nice, even worked a little late to get the repair done and was very kind and nice to chat with. I would highly recommend this place!

I’m updating my review after Tim, the owner, reached out to help remedy the issues I had the first time. I am not the most tech literate person, so I didn’t know that a certain screen type would drain my battery more than most others’ because my battery’s condition was so poor. I had issues with blue stress marks and hairline cracks on the screen after dropping my phone shortly after my first repair. I left a review and Tim reached out to address every issue mentioned. He apologized and assured me that the folks at the shop would replace my battery and screen on the house to make up for the problems I ran into the first time around, and they did! Tim assured me that Michael would handle the repair personally. Michael was very kind and professional and even showed me my old phone battery to help put into perspective what went wrong the first time. Both the owner and Michael went out of their way to take great care of my old iPhone that I’ve put through hell and back and I so appreciate it! Michael clearly knows what’s what when it comes to phones and I’m sure he could answer any questions a more tech literate customer could have. When picking up my phone today, there was a return customer before me in line. He was offered a discount for being a loyal customer. I will be trusting Bull City Mobile Repair with all my future repairs. It’s so nice to know that there are still local businesses that put customer experience above making an easy buck!
