A nine-piece appetizer spread, sushi, ramen served at the perfect temperature, warm sake, and a matcha crème brûlée all landed just right. Original, distinctive, and quietly playful—including a secret private room if you know where to look—do you? Visited Winter 2025/2026. For a fuller picture — Dorinku on Jasper Avenue delivers that downtown Edmonton spark the moment you arrive—curious, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. Inside, the décor rewards attention, with details worth noticing from the front window through to the bathrooms. Service remained friendly, efficient, and well paced throughout the visit. The menu balances variety and execution beautifully, spanning sushi, ramen, and a well-composed appetizer set, paired with sake that feels especially right on a cold, windy evening and finished with a refined matcha crème brûlée. When the restaurant fills, a stylish back room opens with a noticeably different atmosphere, and there’s also a discreet private room—ideal for 4–8 guests—offering full privacy, karaoke, and a PS4.

I can't say enough nice things about the downtown Dorinku. My girlfriend and I hit this place regularly for dinner, and the food is always great, service is always incredible, and atmosphere is my jam, with a unique mix of Asian music and hip-hop. It provides more of a fine dining experience compared t the Whyte Ave location, which I love. If you haven't checked it out yet, you're missing out on one of the best restaurants in all of Edmonton.

Food is delicious and great vibe. The chicken karaage is a crowd favourite and comes with generously large pieces! Get the pressed sushi, the boat is perfect for 3-4 people. The Naminooto sake is so refreshing and easy to drink!

Our family enjoyed our food. The creamy udon dish literally boiled down in front of us from inside a heated stone bowl. The presentation was excellent and fun, while the dish was very tasty. The Sushi and Ramen dishes were also very good. We enjoyed their lemonades as well! Our server was very helpful and polite providing us with attentive and prompt service. We will visit again.

The service was wonderful — we had everything we needed without even having to ask. The food was absolutely delicious, and the seating was spacious and comfortable. I usually avoid tuna because I’m quite sensitive to even mild fishy taste, but their tuna tataki completely changed my mind. It was so fresh and flavorful! 😋 The soda was very good too😍 We were also given a cozy corner seat, which was really thoughtful since we came with our kids, who can get a bit loud at times. The last time we tried to visit on a weekend evening, they were fully booked. This time, we arrived just before they opened at 4pm and had no trouble getting a table. We’ll definitely plan to come earlier on our future visits!
