We visited Japonais Bistro this Tuesday for date night, which was convenient as they had the 1 sashimi/1$ promo going on. We ended up getting 2 orders (of 6) as well as the Japonais select. The japonais select is around 90$ but so worth it. We had it made without octopus or squid, but it was so delicious. Would recommend, also no need to worry about it being enough food, it feeds 2-3 people no problem! We also got the tiramisu and matcha creme brulee for dessert, a little pricey but still a good treat. The tiramisu is delicious, but the coffee cake at the bottom does just taste like very strong coffee beans. Would go again!

Me and my friends are from Saskatoon and my colleague recommended me this restaurant. You didn’t disappoint!!! We love it!!! Good, portion and ambience are perfect for me and my friends who wants to relax. I’m sure coming back again when we visit Edmonton again.

Food is always delicious here, but beware when you order online and use the buy one get one free. Not to sure why they offer this if they are just going to give you sushi that’s falling apart and brown. I always order from them and recently the pressed salmon has not been it. Using old brown salmon and burning it more than it should be or excessively falling apart. I understand it’s a deal and they are technically losing money but come on, I dont think that’s an excuse to give out food that’s made shitty. I’ll attach photos, and this time it was not the worse but it’s been consistently bad the last few times I’ve ordered.

“Tried their spicy seafood noodles and volcano dish — both were so good! Perfect amount of spice and flavor. Ordered for takeout and everything was still hot and fresh when I got home. Definitely recommend!”

I got the sushi and sashimi entree for 1 (turned out to be nigiri and sashimi) and the new style sushi. Waited 30 minutes for the sashimi and 15 minutes for my roll. Waiter forgot to bring me soy sauce and the soup/salad that it came with. They had no more miso soup which was disappointing. The new style sushi was a bit more greasy than i would’ve liked but the sashimi was absolutely amazing. Would’ve appreciated a faster service and friendlier accommodation as table for 1.
