I am native here in the Bay , unfortunately this place is NOT a good representation of this great city! The people who run the store cant be referred to as 'Ladies' especially with their demeanor & overall stature! I get tired of people who come here, pretending to be something theyre NOT. Word of advice....acting like you have Bel Aire roots when youre actually from some trailer park isnt a true native!
Sellers beware!!! Your appearance more than the market demand or current market price or condition they are in determines how much they will offer for the clothes you bring in. I brought a Dolce & Gabanna Denim blazer bought at Sak's Men's store in SF about 30 years ago for somewhere around $3500. It is in EXCELLENT condition and currently sells for $600-1600 on the various luxury vintage markets. She offered me $40 for it. Yep, $40. Said she would sell it for $120. She looked in her phone and could see the same prices I did. She either did not believe the market or was predatory in trying to buy super cheap and sell high. I made the mistake of saying I needed the money, and was dressed in shorts and a T-shirt covered in sweat as well (it was a very hot day and I had just finished work). In any case she does not seem to be a fair dealer. Don't trust her. Make sure she doesn't get the impression that you need the money and are very well-dressed so she doesn't think that you're poor.
There’s been numerous times I’ve gone to this place and felt overly watched and profiled by the staff. It’s unfortunate because they have wonderful clothes here however the last time i went in the lady told me to turn my bag into the front which no one has ever asked me to do before. And they don’t have a sign saying that it is required. Other customers came in with their bags and weren’t asked the same thing. At the end of my time shopping here I told the staff member how i felt she racially profiled me as a black women. This store needs to do better when it comes to treating their black customers with respect.
I love this place. They have a really unique selection of stuff that I could never find anywhere else, at really good prices! You seriously never know what you’re going to find, but I always find something! They play fun music , too haha
WONDERFUL THRIFT! Sorry Im from Washington and this place slaaaays the thrifts back home! The options on the racks alone are amazing!! Nicely priced items you wont see at any other thrift store. Muuuch better than the sad thrift next door lol.
