Walked by this cozy cafe/bookstore/wine bar so many times. Finally went in and was not disappointed! The coffee was perfectly strong without being overly acidic or sour. The book selection was immaculate (I could get lost perusing through the shelves) and for sale. Cherry on top was the beautiful ceiling and the stained glass panels. Staff was friendly and there was a book club meeting happening which added to the vibes of this beautiful corner cafe. A must try in my opinion. Would definitely try the cocktails next time.
Visited as a short stop while bookstore hopping with a friend. The space is small, so probably not ideal for a day of study/work. I think it’s catered for browsing and having a quick drink or bite to eat, and as others have mentioned, there is a variety of books here.
The best espresso ever. This place brings an air of coterie and feels so cozy and welcoming 🥺 Came in for a water in the summer heat and left in a state of awe !! The staff were so kind and the shop itself had beautiful atmosphere.
Visited on a Thursday afternoon and was greeted by friendly and efficient staff. I went for a black coffee and found they only served a regular sized cup. There is a comprehensive menu of different drinks including the opportunity to purchase wine. The coffee tasted good, yet, I felt $4.20 for the coffee and the size was expensive. Consider it tourist prices. The ambience was good. The walls are lined with books and at the end of the room is a large selection of wines on offer. Their was sufficient seating, however, there was a steady stream of customers. The washroom facilities are located down a set of narrow stairs. The washroom would not be comfortable if you were an arachnophobe and the toilet seat needed to be fixed (missing the screws to fix it in place), however, the washroom was clean.
The most amazing coffee shop I’ve been to in dt Toronto. Stumbled upon it while heading towards another coffee shop, but ultimately decided to stop here. It quickly become the best decision of our night. The atmosphere was perfect for reading, studying, and light chit-chatting. The lights were just dim enough to cast the perfect mood in the shop. An array of books all around, along with lots of wine on the shelves. All the staff were incredibly patient despite the hustling of a Friday night. Side note: witnessed a very wholesome interaction where a male customer asked for a female customer’s number. She politely refused, and the male left shortly after. After he left, one of the baristas (also male) turned to the women and asked if she was okay (feeling comfortable, etc.) She was smiling and clearly not upset. very wholesome🥺 Their tea (oolong creme) was DELICIOUS and a good price as well. Loved it so much that I went back the following morning. Saturday mornings were a different vibe, but just as pleasant for studying. Tried their heavenly creme tea and it was delicious as well. Overall, a place I would 100% revisit…actually, might just go again this week.
