Went to Miller and Carter as we were in Cardiff for a concert, we live over 120 miles away so this was a treat. The service was excellent and the food was amazing, only criticism is that the onion loaf was undercooked and soggy. We went on a Thursday so managed to get a three course meal for under £40 each as we ordered from the date night menu. Would definitely eat here again next time we’re in the city.

We visited Miller & Carter on the Sunday of August bank holiday weekend. We made sure to reserve a table as it was to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Upon arriving slightly early at the restaurant we noted it was very busy and we were given the device that calls you once the table is ready and advised to get some drinks at the bar. We weren’t waiting too long before being shown to our table. Plus point, the food was great what I know to expect from Miller & Carter. We both had the sticky chipotle chicken to start followed by the sirloin steak from the “steak experience” part of the menu and a chocolate brownie to finish. The only downside was as a added treat I opted for the lobster tail, in all honesty I’d never tried one before and was disappointed with how little lobster you actually got, in my opinion not worth the money. Negative points, the wait time between courses felt really long, could see the restaurant was busy but we felt ignored. Part way through the evening we asked for some more drinks which then didn’t arrive and we had to flag a waitress down to ask for them again. After finishing our mains it was 25 minutes of waiting before a waitress came to see if we wanted a dessert, which did come out promptly probably because they were closing down the kitchen for the evening! After that yet more waiting at least 20 minutes before getting the bill to pay. In that time from getting our main to getting the bill a couple next to us had arrived, eaten mains, paid and left! It’s safe to say we felt let down by the attentiveness of the staff, once again I’ll put it down to how busy it was that evening but did leave us feeling disappointed. Overall the food was to be as expected but the service we received wasn’t the best. I’ve had better experiences at other Miller & Carter venues and wouldn’t want to rush back to this one in Cardiff.

We visited Miller & Carter to celebrate our wedding, and it was absolutely perfect! The atmosphere was warm and elegant, making it an ideal setting for such a special occasion. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and celebrated, especially Angie and the service was impeccable from start to finish. Our meals were cooked to perfection — the steaks were tender and full of flavor, with every dish beautifully presented. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you for helping make our wedding celebration unforgettable!

Great dinner! We were served by a very young and bright gentleman (he has a septum piercing) his customer service skills were completely unmatched, he was an absolute delight! Deserves a pay rise!!!

We had such a fantastic experience at Miller & Carter! I ordered the fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection – tender, full of flavour. My husband had the ribs and they were lovely too. What really made the evening special was our server, Marcie. She was by far the best server we’ve ever had – so attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, and she really went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. We left feeling well looked after and will definitely be returning. Thank you, Marcie, for making our night so enjoyable!
