School of Rock in Colorado Springs bietet Musikunterricht für Kinder in Bereichen wie Gitarre, Klavier, Gesang und mehr, mit Band-Saisons und Live-Auftritten. Die Schüler erwerben Lesefähigkeiten, Musiktheorie und die Möglichkeit, Aufnahmen zu machen und bei Veranstaltungsorten wie dem Ford Amphitheater und Sunshine Studios Live aufzutreten. My son has been going there for almost 5 years. I’m very disappointed with the lack of communication regarding house band and the fact that when I want to know what’s going on, I always have to initiate contact with the owner. My son likes it there still, I hope things change and real lesson plans with the goal of teaching kids who want to be musicians get a real shot at it, instead of the instructors showing favoritism toward a select few.
My son sat me down one day when he was 12 and said he felt like he was wasting his life (I know... he WAS 12!) and that he needed to contrinute to the world. "I want to play piano. I want to bring that happiness to people with music." There was only one place I had in mind to take him (because I wished it existed when I was a kid), School of Rock. In the last (almost) 4 years he has gone from a pretty reserved kid to an outgoing EXCELLENT keyboardist who can actually READ music, is learning music theory, and is pushing himself into recording and producing music on his own. He's also joining another jazz fusion band because he is musically obsessed and constantly supported and encouraged by everyone there. The teachers know their stuff and know how to relate it to these kids. The other students have become his friends and he spent the past summer getting the opportunity to play a bunch of cool venues including Ford Amphitheater. Best decision we ever made for him and it seems to have changed the course of his life with the opportunities he's been afforded.
My daughter has been going to S.o.R COS for 2+ years now and it has been so much fun! She has learned alot about music and has made some amazing friends. It is the highlight of her day to go to her lesson & band practices. S.o.R has been very accommodating when working with our schedule and understanding when we need to change times or days. Going to S.o.R. has given her many opportunities to play at awesome venues (Ford Amphitheater & Sunhine Studios Live!).
My son has been with the school of rock for 3 yrs and he considers the students and staff his family. Not only has he flourished as a guitar player he has grown to appreciate being a team player. They have been great to him making him feel important and valued and All the things teenagers need. He always looks so forward to rehearsals and lessons. I am forever grateful.
We have had a wonderful experience for the past 3 years. My daughter has grown so much musically with her voice lessons and experience in each of the different band seasons. The staff have always been professional and kind, providing her with the necessary instruction and tools to grow vocally. They genuinely want to help students learn and grow! I love the end of the season shows watching my daughter and all the students showcase their very best in front of a live audience. It’s truly amazing to see all the different music everyone has learned in one season, as well as how to perform and entertain! The shows are a blast! We have loved being a part of this school!
