Bicycles in Pea Ridge National Park
Pea Ridge National Military Park
Cycling at Pea Ridge National Military Park is a great way to discover the true scope of the park, both in size and meaning. It is also a wonderful opportunity to experience a quiet peaceful place of nature in bustling Northwest Arkansas.
Bicycles are welcome and allowed to ride on any of the paved roads within the park grounds. Cyclists are allowed to ride along the Ford Road trail, which is a gravel, dirt, and grass trail that crosses west to east along the south side of Elkhorn Mountain. The Ford Road trail is the only off-pavement trail that bicycles are allowed to use within the park grounds. All other hiking trails and horse trails are off-limits to cyclists. Bicyclists are required to follow all traffic road laws while cycling in the park. It is important to note that cyclists do share the park's tour road with vehicles and pedestrians. Bicyclists are encouraged to remain alert at all times while riding on the park's tour road. Pea Ridge National Military Park is home to a variety of wildlife that can wander into a cyclist’s path at any time. Staying constantly aware of one's surroundings is a safety practice everyone is highly encouraged to do while utilizing and enjoying the park grounds. The park tour road is open from 6 am to dusk 7 days a week, unless otherwise posted.
