Bike the Golden Gate Bridge

Biking the Golden Gate Bridge is a wonderful way to get up-close and personal with one of the world's most iconic landmarks. Bring your own bike or rent one at a local bike rental shop. There are no bike rentals at the Golden Gate Bridge. The closest location to rent bikes is at the Sports Basement located in Crissy Field. Reach the Bridge from the south by following the Golden Gate Promenade in the Presidio. This 1.7 miles (one-way) moderate bike trail has a dedicated bike path along Crissy Field and towards the Golden Gate Bridge Plaza. You can also take public tranist or the Presidio Go shuttle directly to the Golden Gate Bridge Plaza and start from there. Once you cross the bridge, you can return across the bridge again to the return to the Presidio, or continue onto Sausalito or the Marin Headlands. From Sausalito, catch the Golden Gate ferry and return to the San Francisco at the Ferry Building.
